Hey Otman, I sorry to hear that but it is a common problem of many students. The main reason for not reaching the nessessary speed is in fact the lack of continous technical practicing which is normal when one has a job, a familly and other things to do. But there is also a softer approach on playing kind of fast and smooth. I will make a tutorial about this. But if you really want to do those runs - then do those exercises you said - but more then a month. It has to be a daily routine. So figure out how much time you can invest daily into that and then just start it slow. There is no reason for stress. Just do the exercises. I probably also will make a tutorial about that.

Hey Anthony, thanks for your feedback. I use a AXE FX III effect processor for most recordings in the studio. But you can also use the FM3 - same quality. Or you can use any digital stereo delay. There I use a ping pong delay set on the quarter note with feedback on 50% and a mix level around 7%. I hope that helps.

Timing and Time Control are very important in jazz guitar. In this tutorial I show you with a very simple example of 2 notes how you can stretch the timing of a simple melodic motive by moving around the timing points with different methods which I show you here in this tutorial. It is very important that you practice everything with your feet on 2 and 4. Only if you can do that you can master the timing and timing stretch. From all bands from the Fusion area from the 90's I love Tribal Tech most. Scott Henderson the guitar player has his roots in blues and when you listen to him he has a lot of SRV influence. From my point of view one should not pull away the electric guitar from it's roots which is in fact " blues " . Here are nice liveshow that you can have a listen to the guys.
