I now recorded a first tutorial with this guitar - just to see how it works out. I checked the footage out a bit now and good news for the Dr. Pink fans. Dr. Pink will stay on the tutorials. Due to the different colors of the fretboard the autofocus on my professional camera has difficulties which makes total sense. Camera's often have difficulities with close - ups on fretboards when set to autofocus.

I just watched the movie " Birth of the Cool '' on Netflix. It's the story of Miles Davis and how influential he was in the world of music. I was always a fan of the musical approach of Miles Davis because he never stopped his development in creativity and music. There was this one scene where they talked about the moment where he started to use the bell with his horn and created the sound which we all know by Miles. There was a festival where a lot of representatives of Columbia Records were sitting in the audience - and he got signed. It was the sound and the vibe of the sound which brought the notes so much to a bigger audience and made jazz so popular. In fact this is a good example why sound matters so much. There are many other examples like Carlos Santana, Gary Moore, Marc Knopfer, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, BB King and many others who show that the sound which a musician creates with the instrument is like a trademark. Well I can not compare with these big names of course but I also made my own thoughts on sound and how I want my guitar to sound and I had a vision of my personal sound on Sept. 22 and so I started the journey with testing, practicing, exploring and researching. I wanted that my guitar sound would work in a way like a classical soprano or a great soul singer would sound by having all these nuances which make this tremendous emotional impact which such vocalists can have. For me it's a combination of playing technique, effects, amp settings and the guitar which can transport these nuances of sound. I think now I have found my own sound and my new musical journey can start.

Now I played my first guitar night with this guitar so now I can tell how this guitar feels and sounds in the situation of playing. First of all. I thought the price of 12K was a bit the high collector price that they would have something which is really unique and expensive because nobody would be willing to pay such a high price for a new guitar which does not have the history of a Fender or Gibson from the early years. Of course the looks of the guitar is a piece of art. One can love it or somebody else would not like it. But is the sound also worth the really high price ? After the concert I must say - YES. This guitar is worth every cent payed. It is able to display even the smallest detail of playing and playing technique and giving the sound this really warm and emotional expression. Somebody who listened to the concert who is not a guitar player gave me the feedback, that it's like going from a very good soprano to a out-of-reality soprano. In fact it was my vision to create a guitar sound which is as unique and as developed like a professional singer who can display all kinds of expressions with the voice and this guitar is able to take this to the best level possible. Of course the playing technique has to match the possibilities of the guitar but this is extremly motivating to work hard to take it to the level of unlimited possibilities of emotional expression on the guitar.

yes the major pentatonic will follow - but in many parts it's the same since the patterns are the same. Only the root note is different and so is the orientation then. this guitar is really mind bending - I can not express how great this guitar is.

View File Basic Music Notation I know music notation is a topic which most students want to avoid and in many cases you can " survive " by only knowing how to read tabs and chord charts. But if you are serious about your studies on guitar and you really want to know music you can not avoid learning how to read and / or write music in normal music notation. If you are interested in jazz there is in fact no way to avoid this part of music theory because you will never understand the complexity of jazz if you don't know how to read or write music notation. Hey Randy - yeah in fact Mrs Blue is full of life. I can not put in words how great this guitar is. And yes Dr Pink was with me since 2006 and my Godin LGX since 1995 - they are both part of my life. They will not go away. But the Godin LGX probably will not be played so often anymore. That guitar I must say was my main guitar - specialy on concerts and I was looking for a replacement for quite a while.
