  1. Guitar Secrets - Dorian Mode In this guitar secrets tutorial I talk about the dorian mode or dorian scale. This scale is related to the normal pentatonics since all notes of the pentatonics are part of the dorian mode. The pentatonics is 1 b3 4 5 b7 and the dorian mode is 1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7. As you can see there are only 2 additional notes which make the dorian mode. It's the 2 and the 6. That means you can take any pattern you have and just add those 2 notes to get the dorian scale or you choose the ones I am showing you here in the tutorial. The tutorial is divided into 2 parts. The easy to understand part for beginners and the part for the advanced players among you. Use the part which you think is not for you as an additional instruction and inspriation because you can get something out of both parts. Here you now find the chapters of this tutorial. At the end I play a final jam for you that you get some inspiration how you can build up your solo from easy to extrem and to create the waves which lead you to the quam. I will explain in the tutorial what I mean with those waves and the quam. 0:00 Introduction 2:36 Easy 10:45 Advanced 27:22 Final Jam Guitar Secrets - Dorian Mode.pdf Guitar Secrets - Dorian Mode.gp guitar secrets - dorian mode.mp3
  2. Jazz Guitar Improvisation - Comping & Syncopation When it comes to Jazz Guitar Improvisation with chords the comping and syncopation is a very important part of it. Here I have an example with a vamp using the chords D7 / G7. It's important that you first pay attention to develop the 2/4 feel as I am showing you in this tutorial. Then we start with the chords and than with the syncopation specialy on the beats 1 and 2+ and by adding some anticipations on 4+. It's simple from the method buy take every step slow and serious to get all things working intuitiv after a while. 5. Corona Blues Project - Guitar Lesson Due to the corona crisis I thought I create this little Corona Guitar Blues here which we all can play to express how we feel about all this which is going on. There are different parts in this blues and there is something for every level to enjoy and to join. It comes in the ballpark of Gary Moore, AC DC, Rose Tattoo and many other great rocking blues artists. Lets start to connect with eachother with this #coronabluesproject – it's simple learn the part which you can play and connect with others which can play the other guitar and then jam with eachother or record a video together and upload your recordings to YouTube, Instagram or wherever and mark it with the hashtag #coronabluesproject . It's a social experiment for all guitar lovers to distract a bit from the crazyness which is going on in the world. Music is a great anwser to get some joy back into live and connect with old and new friends. You can either work with the hashtag or join the HPCrazy Students Club and connect there. It's all up to you. Corona Blues Project.pdf Corona Blues Project.gp Corona Blues Project.mp3
  6. Corona Blues - Guitar Instrumental This is my contribution to the #coronabluesproject which I started on my other YouTube channel. Check out the tutorial if you want to join this project as well. I would point my version a bit in the range of Gary Moore, Rose Tattoo ( an australien band from the 80's ), AC DC and many cool blues players more.
  7. Yeah me too - much more then the first one they released a few weeks ago.
  8. As it seems - the technical maintainance is done and all seems to work out fine. Please let me know if you monitor any problems. But I think the system should be stable now.
  9. I am running into some technical difficulties which might lead that this website can be offline for a few days. I hope it will not happen but I just want to inform everybody that I am working on this problem and it will be solved. Hopfully without interruptions ? If there is any MySql and database expert out there - help would be welcome. I need to migrate my database to another server and have no clue how to do that.
  10. DEMON FIRE ( AC DC )- Guitar Lesson Here you can learn the guitar riff which is played in AC DC s new song Demon Fire from the CD PWRUP. It's a typical AC DC guitar riff. I am showing you 2 possible fingerings how it is played but I would recommend you the version I think is easier to play. But it's up to you. Thanks to AC DC for this great new song. I love it. 11. I have reordered everything now so the navigation here in the memberarea gets easier. You might check it out. What is new are the picks on the bottom of the page. There you find promoted content with cool " Must Have " stuff or important information. And new is the highlighted Status Update feature which give you more interaktiv possibilities with other members here in the member section. I think slowly we are approaching a really cool and interaktiv system where you can have a lot of fun. ?
  12. Symphonic Rock ( John Petrucci Style )- Guitar Masterclass In this guitar masterclass I'll talk about symphonic rock and relate it to the playing style of John Petrucci Petrucci from Dream Theater. This is not a beginner's lesson so you need to have your things a little bit together to follow my instructions here but for sure it makes sense to get some inspiration even though you probably are not able to play the really fast guitar licks which I'm going to show you here. The guitar master class starts with the courts of the simple backing track with the chords Em, C and D and then gives you the instructions which modes are used on those guitar chords. These are aeolian, lydian and mixolydian. I saw your parents with the so-called three note per string scales. Then I will show you how to use those scales either with 16th note runs or sextole runs. After that I show you how to make combinations of the fast guitar runs and a simple melodic symphonic rock guitar theme. The theme is played in two octaves and this way you can create more tension in your melody development. a signature element of John Petrucci are his octave licks. They're going to show you how they are done and how you can develop it and come make a combination with the melody and the fast runs. Coming to the highlights you also might want to add some tremolo picking licks and they are going to show you different kinds of licks and possibilities which work for different playing levels. At the end I mix everything together to a great symphonic rock guitar instrumental. Symphonic Rock ( John Petrucci Style ).pdf Symphonic Rock ( John Petrucci Style ).gp symphonic rock.mp3
  13. Hey Sara, it's no problem to share your recording. This is about learning and not to show off ? I would recommend to use the backing track you downloaded - this gives the whole thing kind of a structure. ?
  14. Yeah love them too - but they are called Dirty Honey ? A student of mine sent me the link. ?
  15. This one is one of the favorites on the list and this one
  16. well it was not my idea - I do offer a guitar diploma and I have the right to give those diploma's at least here in Switzerland if somebody want to do the job as a guitarist as profession. So somebody came with the idea to offer these awards also for other playing levels. I don't really know if students would want it. The final diploma they want but the others I dont know..... https://www.hpcrazy.com/diploma.html
  17. Dust My Broom ( ELMORE JAMES )- Guitar Lesson Here you can learn the one guitar part of the song " Dust My Broom " by Elmore James. It is played with a bottleneck. So I give you a short introduction into the bottleneck guitar technique and then show you the signature guitar part of this very famous song by Elmore James. For those who don't have a bottle neck I show a version in the 2nd part of the tutorial where you can play it without bottleneck. Dust My Broom.pdf Dust My Broom.gp dust my broom.mp3
  18. Exactly thats the idea behind it. The community helps eachother to progress. I can also comment from time to time or to start but I don't have so much free time left for that. It would also give the community a better " together " vibe. ?
  19. You mean about the exams ? That concept is an idea but not worked out at the moment. But for any tutorial you can post how you managed the tutorial and see who comments. ?
  20. I havent thought it totally thru but something like that. You just need to record a video where you play related to what you learnt then I can see if a student passed the level or not. ?
  21. There is an app available now - it's still in beta. So if you guys want to give it a try. Let me know about your experience. 22. In this tutorial I talked about how to play a great acoustic blues guitar solo performance. Think about the blues guitar player in the streets of New Orleans or a similar scene where you just sit there with your acoustic steel-string guitar and you want to play blues without any band. That's what this tutorial is about. This tutorial is divided in three parts, first I show an easy theme which is played in the key of A, then I play a simple blues guitar rhythm guitar and show you how to improvise by using the a minor pentatonic and the simple chords which I showed you and at the end I going to give some instructions how you really put things together correctly. Here you find the standard blues form which is very important to know by heart : A / A / A / A D / D / A / A E / D / A / E Pay really closed attention of my final notes at the end about timing, rhythm and form.
