  2. Spanish Guitar Improvisation Tutorial When it comes to spanish guitar improvisation on a typical progression there are a few easy tricks to know to make you sound nice and melodic by following the chords with the target notes ( Chord Notes ) - In this tutorial I show you a simple progression with special chords but then also with the normal chords and show you how to use them for a nice and tasteful spanish sounding guitar improvisation. This tutorial goes along the style of Al Di Meola or John Mc Laughlin and is more for pic players but it also works for finger picking players. We all know that record " Friday Night in San Francisco " - it's a bit influenced by that but this tutorial is more for beginners in this genre. The chord progression is the following one : Dm / Dm / Bb / C Dm / Dm / Bb / C Gm6 / Gn6¦F / Edim / A Spanish Guitar Improvisation.pdf Spanish Guitar Improvisation.gp spanish guitar improvisation.mp3
  3. Phrasing is an important element in smooth jazz guitar. I would even say it's the most important part of it. So let's have a look how you can achieve an easy way of phrasing with 3 tricks I am showing you. In this example I am working with a I VI II V progression in D major. That means that you can use either the D major pentatonic or the D major scale. In combination with the 3 phrasing tricks I am showing you here in this tutorial you can already reach a good level on smooth jazz guitar and reach the quam. 21. Hey Sara, glad you loved the backing track. I also never tried that combination of the fingers but it gives an interesting sound and and interesting other approach to sound with finger picking. I might also want to check out Johnny Guitar Watson. He has a similar very special sound which reminds me a bit of this. The rakes are really a cool way of expression and a great add to lead guitar.
