  1. I had a cool Interview with Charley from RadioOG.com - we talked about music and the swiss music scene and the way I see musc and how I developed my career as a musician. In this interview you hear a lot of background information about the start of my career, the way I see music and the way I see teaching guitar. Was really a fun experience this chat. See my blog entry in Radio OG's Friday Nite Underground show : LINK and listen to the radio - these guys really have some cool music there. If you want to listen to the interview you can download it here. It's our skpecall we had 1 week ago. << LISTEN TO THE SHOW HERE >>
  2. Here you can learn the guitar part of the song " Soul Man " as played by the Blues Brothers. This is a very classic guitar intro and that intro is the signature part of the song. Soul Man.pdf Soul Man.gp

  4. Wild SRV - Guitar Lesson Here I give you some instructions on how to play a really wild guitar in the style of SRV or Voodoo Chile. The movement of the right arm is the signature movement of SRV playing style. It has a reason why it has to be like this. It's because all which is played in the trio situation with only Stevie Ray Vaughan and his Band Double Trouble requires that you have full punch on your playing that you can keep the intensity up. That's the secret of that specific playing technique. You recognize it by this circle style movement of his right arm. In the tutorial I give you some instructions how to do that and to work with some rhythm patterns to develop an automatism. Wild SRV.pdf Wild SRV.gp wild srv.mp3
  5. A new donation of 53.06 by Karl Heinz from Germany. Many thanks 🙂
  6. Here you can listen to my HPCrazy Guitar Night from the 7.3.21 - I wanted to do a classic guitar night with the focus on blues rock and rock. I picked 2 songs from the CD " Blues City " - The Sherrif and Grand Ma's Apple Pie and I did a lot of not released works like " Indian Summer " or the " Misery Blues " where I for the first time tried to do some singing. Well I know the singing can be improved. In fact I took some singing lessons when I was playing a lot in piano bars at the beginning of my career and my bosses wanted me to sing so I gave a shot but I never liked it. This time I enjoyed even I knew it was bad. Somebody was asking for the song " Drunken Snake in the Dessert " - I was not prepared for that to switch the guitar thats why the picture with the accoustic guitar is not so good. But I can tell that after a long time of testing equipment and the livestreaming I found the solution now which works for any future livestreaming. And I am planing to do a HPCrazy Guitar Night every month where I will play things I am working on, also make jazz specials, smooth jazz specials and accoustic guitar specials - maybe also meditation specials. We will see how it develops. And for the first time I included the Super Chat and Super Sticker function in the livestream where fans can donate during the ongoing livestream. I love that feature. 😄 If you haven't done your donation you can do it here on my website. https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/index.php?/clients/donations/2-support-the-hpcrazy-guitar-academy/
  7. Hey Sara, thanks for letting me know that. I did not know that. I just heard about the story about the David statue and found that a good example to explain how creativity can work. I read in a book about meditation in City noises and it should now disturb you if you don't have another solution. It's a matter of concentration I think - but I understand that. I am also pretty noise sensitive. 🙂 Thats great that you hear music that way. The right path would be to improve your musical abilities that you are able to translate the music you hear on your guitar or your recordings. As I always say in teaching - music is always here you just need to learn how to translate it. 🙂
  8. Creativity and Meditation What is the connection between meditation and creativity ? I want to share my thoughts and my way of living creativity. My way of seeing music, art, thoughts and life is, that everything is already there you just need to open up your mind to see or feel it and then start to create. There is a prominent example for that way of thinking. When Michelangelo, the famous italian artist was asked how he created his famous David statue he answered that the statue was always there he just needed to remove the unnecessary parts from the stone. It's the same with music. Music is something which has always been there you just need to be able to hear the music. One can not create something which has not been there - it's part of nature and part of everything. And how do you hear that music ? Here comes the meditation - by switching all other noises in your conscious. That can work with meditation or what I often did with long jogging tours. I can not tell how many songs I composed while I was jogging. The main technique to open yourself up for music and switching off everything else which disturbs the creative process. It can also happen that you hear music while you are sleeping. I compose quite a few songs like this. The picture you are seeing is taken at one of my favorite meditation spots out in nature on a hill.
  9. Slap Guitar Solo ( Markus Miller Style )- Tutorial Have you ever wanted to make a cool guitar solo with slap technique like Markus Miller or other cool bass players ? Then this tutorial is for you. I show you the adapted playing technique that you can slap on your guitar and create some cool slapping guitar licks. You can do this with a normal clean guitar sound or if you have an octaver you can also add some of that effect to give it a more punchy bass line. The examples I am showing are kind of a guiding line through this kind of playing and the technique of the picking hand is a bit altered from the normal bass technique which works better on the thinner strings on guitar. 10. Hey Sara - yes there will be nice things coming. I haven't forgot about the CD cover, but the CD was not recorded due to the Covid crisis in 2020 but now I will pick up my work again- no matter what the politicians are doing....
  11. Hey Andrea, thanks for your words. Well my main problem is always the time to do all these things. I would even have more idea's but it's not possible to do this. This plan I developed now is possible if I work on-going with disciplin.
  12. Thanks Jana for your nice words about my music - more to come soon. 🙂
  13. Guitar Secrets - Basic Rhythm ( Complete Beginners Course ) Rhythm is one part of the music and guitar education which is often a bit neglected but it’s a very important part of music. It makes 50% of the musical expression. So this is in fact a " Must Have " tutorial. If you don’t know rhythm and timing you will have difficulties making music. This tutorial talks about the basics of rhythm and timing and is meant for beginners but if you are a more experienced player and never have done this before I strongly recommend that you also do this entire tutorial. Even if you think that you can play the basic rhythm figures, try to do it and give your practicing the maximum musical expression as I am decribing in the tutorial here. Below you find all chapters. Once you have done this chapter try to write down an example which contains all basic figures I have talked about and then try to play in one row. You can take my example as well and try with this one. Basic Guitar Timing ( complete beginners course ) .pdf Basic Guitar Timing ( complete beginners course ) .gp
  14. Yes that probably the same vibe - I can imagine. Yes I hope it is engaging for others. Music is a wonderful tool for many things.
  15. Sitting here at my favorite spot for creative thoughts and meditation at Greifensee in Switzerland I am reviewing my personal experiences and findings during the past 12 months which of course have been affected by Covid 19 as well as for many of us and made me think about many things in life - also since in my personal life some things have changed for the good and some for the more difficult ways and it brought me to the finding that I will enter more into creative works again. In the past 12 months I was absorbed by many things also by the changements in our society and I needed to face that my business which was always running well over decades suddenly got into problems just because of the situation in our society. I was running 2 strategies. One just to survive as a musician in lockdown situations and the other to build my online business which I was about to leave before Covid striked the world. But I don't want to get too much into details since this is affecting all of us so here are my plans which I am about to follow during this year and which settled at the shore of this beautiful lake. 1. Social Media strategy - I will drive all traffic now to this website here. This will be the center of my activities in music and philosophical thoughts. I personally believe that it's best to become more independent from the big social media platforms. I have the RSS Feed activated here. You find it in the little orange symbol on the right bottom corner of this page. The RSS feed will be spread to my other websites and I am trying to pull all traffic here to this website. If you have a website and you want to support me you are free to use my RSS feed and embed it on your website. 2. HPCrazy Guitar Academy - The YouTube channel will remain and will keep the pace up to 2 tutorials per week but I will also add more lifestreams where you can get more background insight and also more concerts with different types of things I am working on. I try to get guests in my show but musicians currently are not really willing to collaborate in my surroundings. But it's a plan to enlarge the concept. I will also get more into different genres, playing styles and guitars. I have updated my gear tremendously and it will now come more into action on the HPCrazy YouTube Channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/hpcrazycom 3. Farbmusik - I will start to put much more effort in the Farbmusik and specially in the section of meditation - and healing music and also will start to create concepts for healing with music. I will also bring in my knowledge of astrology - I am a professional Astrologer, I just never talked about it before in my official channels and in combination of that I am also a spiritual adviser and healer with the focus on healing with music, also by taking astrological constellations in account. You can expect many things to come. I will do this in german and in english. This will also include live streaming concerts and healing and meditation sessions live with music.I will also offer astrological / musical counselings - if you are interested please contact me. I started this work 2 years ago. This part of my knowledge was always hidden from my official music channels but I decided that's now the time to merge everything to one creative expression. And that's also one of the reasons I will pull all traffic from all channels now to this page. But the YouTube channel where all this will happen will be the Farbmusik YouTube Channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/farbmusik That's about what I was thinking about over months now. There was also a thought to get engaged in political things since the world is now dramatically changing and I have been into politics all my life. Before I became a musician I studied history and politics at the University of Zürich but I came to the finding that what I described above is the right way for me and this way I can serve people most because even music has not such a huge recognition in society it has one of the highest impact to people when it comes to emotions.
  16. Oh really ? I thought this song is long forgotten 😄
  17. Hey Adrian, yeah now I remember sound I used on that tutorial. I have used a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 Amp and a 2*12 cabinet in my AXE FX III device and I added some reverb and some reverse delay. The reverse delay it not totally required but if you have one it makes your sound wide - when you use normal delay on clean sound settings it does not really work since the repeated notes are too clear and they mess up the overall melody you are playing. Solidstate amp works since for clean jazz tones solidstate amps are a very good option. All you need is a large reverb and you are ready to go. I guess your amp has reverb, if not I would strongly recommend to buy a reverb pedal. Single coil pickups are not 100% ideal for jazz sounds but if you use the neck pickup and cut the high frequencies a bit then you quite good sound. Single coils have a very clear and crispy sound which is not really what we want in jazz sounds - just if you think it sounds great for your ears then go for it. No rules here - just recommendations.
  18. oh really ? Still ? I thought this one was long time forgotten 😄
  19. Sittin' at the dock of the bay ( Ottis Redding ) Here you can learn the rhythm guitar and the guitar fill ins of the song " Sittin' at the dock of the bay " by Ottis Redding. I worked out the acoustic guitar for you as it is played on the original recording even it was hard to hear what exactly was played. The lead guitar I show you is more how it is to be done by filling the chords are the right spot. Dock of the Bay.pdf Dock of the Bay.gp dock of the bay.mp3
  20. Meditation music is great to relax and to make your own inner journeys while listening to music. This is a first meditation concert I am doing as a livestream. I will play different colors ( Farbmusik ) and meditate with you to this great new moon. Farbmusik ( colormusic ) is the musical interpretation of colors and their emotional content. Due to a special talent, colors and music always had a connection for me. When creating Farbmusik, it was my aim to create a music that would make this connection tangible for everyone. During the years of researching these aspects of music, nothing was left to chance, and yet I see color music as a very personal view of music and color. If you love what you heard please give your donation here to support my work : http://www.hpcrazy.com/donation.html
  21. I can guess - this one is really important for timing and phrasing. 🙂
  22. Cool Jazz Guitar Cat ( Timing & Phrasing ) Playing a cool and solid jazz guitar does not necessarily have to do with speed and runs - it's also about timing, space and phrasing. Miles Davis was the master of time and space in his phrasing so let's have a look at a few easy tricks to get into jazz guitar phrasing by understanding the rhythm which is played. In this case I am showing how to play a blues track and you can use the minor F minor pentatonic or the F blues scale. Jazz blues is mostly in the key of F or Bb - in this case F. Pay close attention to my instructions how to work with timing and how to modify rhythm figures. By understanding rhythm figures you can also start to modify them. The 2 4 feel is the center of all exercises. Play all examples with the 2 4 feel that gives you the right groove and makes you swing correctly. 23. Got a donation of 32CHF by Micheal from Germany today. Thanks for that 🙂
  24. Because of the ongoing Covid restrictions in Switzerland my buisness is still suffering from income loss as many other buisness of others as well I guess.
