  4. Easy Guitar Pro Licks - Slow Rock In this tutorial I talk about slow rock and how to play a professional sounding cool guitarsolo with only 3 guitarlicks. The licks are very easy to play. I am showing you them first and then how you can create great variations with bendings, vibrato and accelerated vibrato at the end of the long notes you are playing. Every position on the fretboard has its secrets and tricks - so I talk with you about that. Beside that I show you one show-off guitar lick where you can push your guitar solo to a cool pro level and the good news is, it’s not so hard to play. I also talk about the playing philosophy - it’s more important to play intense then perfect. Therefore I give you some cool instructions and ideas which can help you to do that. 5. Mit Farbe durch den Winter Tomorrow the first concert of the series " Mit Farbe durch den Winter " will take place. It is a pure live streaming concert concept and is intended to be a counterbalance to the other somewhat difficult circumstances we all face. Tomorrow I will improvise meditative colors on the piano. The same as at my color music concerts, for which some of you have already been there. The feedback at these rather small concerts was always that it could give those who were there moments of reflection, moments of connection and a form of emotional wholeness. That's something that some people could certainly use at the moment and concerts can only take place under very difficult conditions. So it's quite simple - then the concerts take place as a live stream from my studio. The picture doesn't give as much as in a church, but the sound is in studio quality which is much more important. It is planned to do this weekly until the end of the year - similar to Advent Sunday and then I'll see what the feedback of the maybe only few people who want to listen to such a concert is like. Here's now the first of the series - will be broadcasted on sunday 6:30 PM Zürich time.
  6. Guitar Secrets - Minor Smooth Jazz In this guitar secrets tutorial I talk about minor smooth jazz. I am giving you a whole bundle of ideas how you can work out on a typical minor smooth jazz chord progression. In this case I made it pretty simple for you. This is the chord progression I have used : Fm7 / Fm7 / Db7 / C7alt First I show you the chords I have used and then I give some really deep insight how to play a great lead guitar over this progression. So the first step is to analyze what kind of modes can be played over each of the chords. For beginners in the smooth jazz topic it's the F minor blues scale which can be used over the entire track. To follow the chords you can use a simple trick by just playing the bluenote ( B ) on the Db7 chords and the E on the C7alt chord. These are guide tones so you match pretty well to those chords. For more sophisticated soling I do an analysis for you and give you a 2nd possibility for each chord. This is called modal interchange. That means you can select the mode which you like more or you can mix up the different modes the way you want to make your soloing sound more interesting. I give you some short tips on the secondary modes on how to make your mode sound more interesting by using upper structure triads. That's a great way of working out the sound of any selected mode. At the end I give some instructions how to work out the modes with a distorted lead sound. Here are the modes to each chord : Fm7 Fm Blues Scale F Aeolian F Dorian Db7 Fm Blues Scale Db Lydian b7 C7alt Fm Blues Scale Fm harmonic minor C Phrygian Nat. 3 C altered Scale At the end I play a full sequence for you to give you some inspiration. 7. Hey Sara, thanks for the reminder. As I said I was stuck into technical changements of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy and also the Farbmusik Livestreaming Concerts. All is finishend and I am ready to get into creative parts again. Meaning to get into the topics you mentioned as well. Also the Guitar Nights will come again. And there I in fact want to do acid jazz stuff.
  8. This guy is really good - a mixture between Larry Carton and Robben Ford. The blues reminded me a lot to Robben Ford also the tone. And it's really great with the finger picking I must say. That tune is played at every jamsession here in Zürich. I think I should make a tutorial about that one. Always planed to do it - but was stuck in technical changements of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy.
  9. Yes thats normal - playing chords is not so complex then improvising. You can try to do exercises where you improvise but focus on your foot. Meaning instead on focusing to play a lot of notes, try to focus to have your foot right and then play one note you really want and hear.
  10. 11. Hey Pete, thats really a great feedback. Thats whats music is all about - you need to hear what you want to play. Thats a sign that you kind of found a musical home. You can train this more - try to play the things you here on the fretboard. It might be difficult at the beginning but the more you do that the better you are able to play instant what you hear. The run at 1:17 it just the D major pentatonic up.

  19. Advanced Blues ( complete beginners course )- Guitar Lesson This is a complete advanced blues course for beginners and intermediate guitar players. If you missed the very basics blues course which you can find here : Here you find the chapters 0:00 Introduction 2:35 Form 11:30 Rhythm 20:57 Scales 33:42 Riffs 40:34 Licks & Improvisation 49:29 HP's Version Form There are different forms possible beside the standard 12 bar blues form. Here it is in the key of A : A7 / A7 / A7 / A7 D7 / D7 / A7 / A7 E7 / D7 / A7 / E7 here's a form with quick change : A7 / D7 / A7 / A7 D7 / D7 / A7 / A7 E7 / D7 / A7 / E7 here's a form with an extended turn around without the quick change: A7 / A7 / A7 / A7 D7 / D7 / A7 / F#7 ( F#m7 ) B7 / E7 / A7 / E7 here's a form with a turn around at the end : A7 / D7 / A7 / A7 D7 / D7 / A7 / A7 E7 / D7 / A7 F#7 ( F#m7 ) / B7 E7 and here's an other turn around : A7 / D7 / A7 / A7 D7 / D7 / A7 / A7 E7 / D7 / A7 D7 / A7 E7 Rhythm Timing and rhythm are an important part of music and of blues guitar. So it's good when you understand the rhythm in the basic form. This will help you to enjoy blues and blues improvisation more because you have a stable timing and rhythm feel in blues guitar. Here are some examples which I wrote for you using full notes, half notes, quarter notes, shuffled eight notes and trippets. These are the basic rhythm figures and the better you know them the more precise you can play and improvise blues guitar. Scales From the basic blues improvisation you know that you can play the minor pentatonic in a blues guitar improvisation. Thats a cool thing to do and many players work mainly with that scale but if you want to go to a next level of your improvisation abilities you can start to work with other scales. Here you find a list which scales can be used on which guitar chord : A7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale A major pentatonic A mixolydian scale D7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale D mixolydian scale E7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale E mixolydian scale F#7 /F#m7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale A major pentatonic B7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale B mixolydian scale Riffs Blues riffs always work the same. It's combinations of A to A6 and / or A7. In this chapter I show you a few commen riffs on the example of A. You can use those riffs on the A7 the D7 and E7 but they don't really work on the F#7 or B7 Licks & Improvisation When it comes to the improvisation you can try to work with the different scales and the method of question and anwser as you learned in the basic blues guitar course. This works exactly the same as before but you can include the new scale opportunities as described in the scales chapter. HP's Version At the end I show you how I work with my system I showed. As an inspiration for you. Advanced Blues ( Complete Beginners Course).pdf Advanced Blues ( Complete Beginners Course).gp Slow Blues A 50.mp3 Slow Shuffle A 70.mp3
