Due to the corona crisis and the big shifts in our free societies I have decided to become active in philosophical and political ways. With a lot of worries I see what is going on in many countries in this world related to the corona crisis. I think all of us are worried and many of us look into an unsecure future. I don't want to get too political since it does not really make sense. I noticed that our society has splited up into 2 main groups. Each of them does not seem to understand each other anymore because each group is driven by fear. One group by the fear to loose there freedom and the other group by the fear of the virus. Desicions driven by fear hardly give us good results - so the very first step to get out of this destructiv circle is to let fear go. How do we do that ? By talking about the fears, by gathering information and last but not least by connection to yourself to find peace. Music is a great way to find inner peace - either by playing yourself or by listening to music. I will make my contribution with music here. I also gathered a lot of information and I can encourage you all to do so as well. There are many sources of information. Which one can be trusted ? The best way is to gather as many as possible and you make your own desicion which one sounds right to you. The bad choice is to only listen to one opinion. So lets us all stick together and try to get thru this and hopfully we will get our freedom back and we can help eachother. I was thinking a long time if I would take this topic into my work but it has an influence on all of us so thats ok. ?

The turnaround is one of the most used elements in jazz music. It appears in jazz blues, in rhythm changes or many Jazz standards in different forms. So what is a turnaround ? it is a 1625 progression which is played mostly in 2 bars. There are several forms available and babe are all called turn around so here are three examples below. Bb7 G7 / C7 F7 Bbmaj7 G7 / C7 F7 Bbmaj7 Gm7 / Cm7 F7 There are different methods to make a solo over such musical form. Some of them are easy, others are more advanced and difficult. In this tutorial I talked about the easy form and that method works over all versions of turnarounds in any situation. The main trick is to use the major pentatonic scale and adding the approach note which is located between the interval 2 and 3 and is so-called flat 3. So first I am going to show you a written guitar which works on a turn around with a walking bass and then show you the major pentatonic with the approach note and then give you some guitar licks and some inspiration how to use that scale over a turn around. At the end of the tutorial I am going to play a version of my own to give you some additional improvisation on how to work out with that method. Here you can learn how to develop an easy blues motif from scratch by using a motif which is very simple with a note or chord on count 1 and 2+. First to show you how it sounds just with one note. Hey Andreas, yes this is lesson which for sure hits the issue of many players. Glad it works for you. Just try on your current equipment the way I am showing in this tutorial. The pinch harmonic I skipped in this tutorial since it's enough to start this specific journey. But I will do about pinch harmonic in specific in an advanced lesson later. Or you just check YouTube - for sure there is a tutorial which talks about pinch harmonics.

Yes I was not sure if its in the 1st position or in the 5th fret - then I thought I go for the easier one and reviewing the livevideo's it seemed that it's originaly played in the 1st position. And yes if you have a wrist injury 3 note per string is for sure not advisable. Do you still suffer from the injury ?

Foxy Lady ( Jimi Hendrix )- Guitar Lesson In this tutorial I'll show you how to play the song Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix as played at Miami pop 1968 live. On this live recording you can clearly see the fingering of Jimi Hendrix so I decided to pick that recording and show you how to play the main guitar riff and give you some inspiration how to do some solo guitar in the wild style of Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix used to tune his guitar on Eb but I have made a version which is played on normal tuned guitar. I also checked his fingering on the live recording and I show you the way he plays the guitar riff but I also show you an alternative fingering which is probably easier for most of your players out there. Even though there are recordings of Jimi Hendrix playing this song I do believe that he never meant it to be extremely precise. I think the wildness in his playing is part of his trademark style and so when it comes to the guitar solo I show you how to play wild and that is exactly what's Jimi Hendrix playing was all about.
