Some call it the I IV V progression, some the L Form and some Tonica, Subdominat and Dominat. The Jimi Hendrix chord was the E7#9 chord.Even Hendrix did not Invent this chord it was always related to him because he used very often. In this tutorial I am showing you a very cool rock riff using this chord but with a drop d tuning. With a drop D tuning you tune down the low E string to a D and then you have three open strings which create a really dark and strong powerchord which is very easy to grab and so very good for beginners or intermediate players.
