Here you find a selection of technical exercises and licks for basic smooth jazz by just using the pentatonics and the blues scale. The backing track is only on 80 bpm which is quite slow and this gives you the opportunity to get those exercises done together with a backing track. 6. I have been doing a lot of strategic analysis since january 2023 and here are the current strategies which I am planing to work on durning 2025 : Focus on building more on this community here. The goal was to bring together all different types of things I am doing on one website. It was really a challenge because it is a lot and it shall not be confusing for user. But the main topics will be the HPCRazy Guitar Academy and the new music which is coming now. I have restarted the pitching of music into the TV and movie syncing business. The competition is extremly high but thats a way to go and I have already been successful in the past still getting royalities from that time every month. BTW this also help to finance this whole system here which still is on economic weak feet. Live Playing - That part I have been neglating a lot in the past 20 years because I was too busy. But I can say the the work on the Farbmusik Concerts slowly starts to pay off and the audience which started from nearly 0 is growing a bit each time. And I also formed a new band for the HPCrazy Guitar Show. More news is coming in the future. Beside the synching business I will start to release more music to my different brand but the main brands will be Farbmusik and HPCrazy.
  7. Love this one here - does anybody know how you call this blues genre ?
  8. Here I show you a great rock guitar riff which makes your rock guitar sound modern as if you would have played it with a drop tuning or a 7- or 8-string guitar. Here you can download the files associated to this tutorial :

  9. admin commented on mapetry's blog entry in Markus
Hey Markus, thats in fact something I never thought about before. For the moment there is this solution : You can mark any part of the course which you already finished with " helpful " - then you know exactly which part you already learnt and which one not. Just click on it then it turns green. Here you can see it :
  10. Ok - quickly wrote something easy which you can use as a solo over the B section - or any similar blues. View this attachment : Solo St. Louis Blues.pdf
  11. Yes this tune is great to start a bit with jazz guitar because the main part is a blues in G, but you have to play it with the mixolydian mode and to start I would work out something which is near to the theme. which part do you exactly mean ? The last line of the C part ? As far as I know the A and the C part are only there for the melody and only the B part which is a blues is used for improvisation. But I can do some licks on II V I - they will soon come in the basic jazz improvisation course. Today I added something on a II V I in a minor key.
  12. Here I talk about the basics of a jazz improvisation on a II-7b5 V7 I-7 progression. In this case Bm7b5 E7 Am7. I talk about the modes, the arpeggios and show you some easy licks to start your jazz guitar improvisation. Here you can download the files associated to this tutorial :

  13. I also will do " You Are The Sunshine Of My Life " in the near future. 😏
  14. That's also a nice version -- but I guess I will go for a jazz guitar version. I'll check out if I find the sheetmusic for it.
  15. I discoverd this version here 😊
  16. Hey guys - please tell me your wishes what type of tutorial you would like to see. Since I don't have too much time for research I would welcome suggestions about tutorials about current songs which just came out or where tutorials are missing but which are popular or a least interesting to check out the guitar work in those songs.
  17. Hey guys, here's now the newsletter March 25 with some amazing news. First of all there is a brand new system available now. It looks very different and has some really cool new features. This is how it looks now. The most obvious thing now is that the navigation bar is on the sidebar which allows you to switch very fast from one department to another. To understand all the new features I strong recommend that you watch the new " Best Use " Video which is approx. 9 min long : I want to highlight the new department of the premium member features : Music Download https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/files/category/13-music-download/ Here I will make my inofficial and offical new music recordings available which will complet the picture you get from the tutorials, tabs and backing tracks and the overall content. There I have already added 2 recordings : Sunny Side Of The Street : A rendition of the popular new orleans style jazz tune. Chilling Finger Style Blues Guitar : Here is a recording of a mid tempo guitar blues in the key of A. On this recording I for the first time tried my new finger style technique I have been working on for a while. and also the brand new " Search Tags " system which will allow you to find the exact content you are looking for and to follow that content : https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/announcement/5-search-tags/ and I strongly recommend that if you have any personal questions use either the Students Forum : https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/forum/79-students-forum/ or for more sophisticated support the premium member blogs : https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/blogs/ And now lets move on to the new tutorials in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy Blues Slow Drop D Blues Guitar : Here I show you a very cool slow blues guitar riff in the key of A but played with a drop D tuning. This gives the overused key of A a completely new and cool new vibe. Love it ! Damn Right, I've Got The Blues ( Buddy Guy ) : Here I show you the main parts of Buddy Guy's Blues " Damn Right, I've Got The Blues " and give you some insight into his picking technique and the general philosophy of blues guitar. Rock Easy Creative Metal Guitar Riff : Here I show you the basic rhythm figures on a easy and creative metal guitar riff in E. After you know the basics you can become creative and make combinations of them. Rock Guitar Secrets - Basic Alternate Picking : Timing and precision in rhythm are top priority topics when it comes to rock lead guitar. This is the basic exercise in rock alternate picking which will set the foundation of a solid and precise rock lead guitar. If you have never done this exercise before this tutorial is an absolute " MUST HAVE " for all players. Jazz Smooth Jazz Guitar - Chilling Licks : Here I show you 3 different smooth jazz guitar chilling licks which give you a really chilling and laid back vibe in your smooth jazz guitar. New ! I want to start to check out more modern and accurate artists in any genre. I started with a song " Ashes To Ashes " by the Tarbox Ramblers. You might don't know the band but the song got featured in the very popular TV series " Sons of Anarchy " - so this is a first shot. Modern blues or rock artists often use either droped tunings or 7- or 8 string guitars. This one I showed on " The Cat " our friendly 7 string guitar from the neighbourhood. Music News I have been very busy the last month with playing concerts and events. I am currently doing 2 Farbmusik concerts per month. Slowly but surely I am getting some fans and the audience is getting bigger and bigger. I know the concept works because everybody who has been at a Farbmusik show fell in love with it. The main problem is to get this off the ground running with no budget for advertisment or for additional manpower. I can only highlight that if you love the work I am doing please support either with a premium membership or a donation : https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/clients/donations/ I also relaunched the HPCrazy Guitar Show with a first performance in a club in Aegeri ( Switzerland ) - everybody loved it and it will continue. Now I am looking for additional venues and probably I will start the live streaming concerts again. I took a longer pause because I felt I first need to develop more as a guitarist since there are so many great talents out there who are just great. Of course everybody is talking about Matteo Mancuso and his technique is breathtaking for any guitarist on this planet. For me it was an inspiration that fingerstyle guitar can work on electric and distorted guitar and so I have been working over a year on my technique to redefine my playing style and just yesterday I played a full concert with that new technique and I am ready now to do live performances again. You can check it out on this recording here. It's the first recording with this technique. It's now fast and flashy but has way more potential of emotional and personal expression : So that about all news now. Thanks for supporting my work with your time, your link sharing and of course also with your premium member subscription or donation. Best HP
  18. Checked the chords now - take these ones here : The problem you might noticed is that the voicings of these chords are above the melodyline from the theme but these are the classic old style chords which you would use on new orleans type jazz songs. To avoid the described problem just play the theme one octave higher. 😊
