Hey Sara, thanks for the reminder. As I said I was stuck into technical changements of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy and also the Farbmusik Livestreaming Concerts. All is finishend and I am ready to get into creative parts again. Meaning to get into the topics you mentioned as well. Also the Guitar Nights will come again. And there I in fact want to do acid jazz stuff.

This guy is really good - a mixture between Larry Carton and Robben Ford. The blues reminded me a lot to Robben Ford also the tone. And it's really great with the finger picking I must say. That tune is played at every jamsession here in Zürich. I think I should make a tutorial about that one. Always planed to do it - but was stuck in technical changements of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy.

Yes thats normal - playing chords is not so complex then improvising. You can try to do exercises where you improvise but focus on your foot. Meaning instead on focusing to play a lot of notes, try to focus to have your foot right and then play one note you really want and hear.

Hey Pete, thats really a great feedback. Thats whats music is all about - you need to hear what you want to play. Thats a sign that you kind of found a musical home. You can train this more - try to play the things you here on the fretboard. It might be difficult at the beginning but the more you do that the better you are able to play instant what you hear. The run at 1:17 it just the D major pentatonic up.

Here you find a list which scales can be used on which guitar chord : A7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale A major pentatonic A mixolydian scale D7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale D mixolydian scale E7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale E mixolydian scale F#7 /F#m7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale A major pentatonic B7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale B mixolydian scale Riffs Blues riffs always work the same. It's combinations of A to A6 and / or A7. In this chapter I show you a few commen riffs on the example of A. You can use those riffs on the A7 the D7 and E7 but they don't really work on the F#7 or B7 Licks & Improvisation When it comes to the improvisation you can try to work with the different scales and the method of question and anwser as you learned in the basic blues guitar course. Guitar Secrets - Dorian Mode In this guitar secrets tutorial I talk about the dorian mode or dorian scale. This scale is related to the normal pentatonics since all notes of the pentatonics are part of the dorian mode. The pentatonics is 1 b3 4 5 b7 and the dorian mode is 1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7. As you can see there are only 2 additional notes which make the dorian mode. It's the 2 and the 6. That means you can take any pattern you have and just add those 2 notes to get the dorian scale or you choose the ones I am showing you here in the tutorial. The tutorial is divided into 2 parts. The easy to understand part for beginners and the part for the advanced players among you. Use the part which you think is not for you as an additional instruction and inspriation because you can get something out of both parts. Here you now find the chapters of this tutorial. At the end I play a final jam for you that you get some inspiration how you can build up your solo from easy to extrem and to create the waves which lead you to the quam. Jazz Guitar Improvisation - Comping & Syncopation When it comes to Jazz Guitar Improvisation with chords the comping and syncopation is a very important part of it. Here I have an example with a vamp using the chords D7 / G7. It's important that you first pay attention to develop the 2/4 feel as I am showing you in this tutorial. Then we start with the chords and than with the syncopation specialy on the beats 1 and 2+ and by adding some anticipations on 4+. It's simple from the method buy take every step slow and serious to get all things working intuitiv after a while. Corona Blues Project - Guitar Lesson Due to the corona crisis I thought I create this little Corona Guitar Blues here which we all can play to express how we feel about all this which is going on. There are different parts in this blues and there is something for every level to enjoy and to join. It comes in the ballpark of Gary Moore, AC DC, Rose Tattoo and many other great rocking blues artists. Lets start to connect with eachother with this #coronabluesproject – it's simple learn the part which you can play and connect with others which can play the other guitar and then jam with eachother or record a video together and upload your recordings to YouTube, Instagram or wherever and mark it with the hashtag #coronabluesproject . It's a social experiment for all guitar lovers to distract a bit from the crazyness which is going on in the world. Music is a great anwser to get some joy back into live and connect with old and new friends. You can either work with the hashtag or join the HPCrazy Students Club and connect there.
