Steady Drop D Hard Rock Guitar - Tabs & Backing Track This is a cool and steady hard rock guitar riff played with a drop D tuning. Since this is a drop D tuning the riff is easy to play. The chords are really easy to grab but to play it steady it quite a challenge. I have added 2 version of the rock backing track. In these blog I want write about my practice routines on guitar to give you an impression what I am working on. Some exercises are really a long lasting project and some just for a certain time. I always start my guitar practicing with these classical arpeggio exercises and I play all of them first slow, then medium tempo and sometimes I try them faster. One of the main problems on these exercises is, that the left hand fingering is quite challenging since the intervals are either 5ths or 6ths or similar and you need to skip the strings in certain positions and sometimes you need to make small barré fingerings - this in combination with the picking technique make this exercise really demanding but it is extremly helpful for flexibility in any improvisation situation where I want to play chords with a let ring effect and also for orientation on chords.

Here are 3 of my personal classical arpeggio exercises which I do on a regular routine. It is running through the diatonic chords in Cm, Gm and Dm and is a challenge for your fingering and your picking technique. If you want to add these exercises to your routine make sure that you start very slowly and pay close attention to your fingering in combination with your picking technique. The optimal repeats per exercise is 2 times which helps your system to memorize all, but it really takes some time till you can play these exercises fluently. Blues Guitar Timing Exercises - Tabs & Backing Track To manage timing in blues guitar it is really important that you know which kind of rhythm figures are used in shuffle blues or any shuffle rhythm. The basis of shuffle is the number 3. So we have quarter notes which is the tempo of the song and the triplets which is one beat divided through 3 or sextoles which is one beat divided through 6 and adaptations from that like the shuffle groove which is the first and the third triplet played or quarter trippets which is the first, the third and the second of 2 triplets played. Rock Guitar Secrets - Tight Timing If you want to play a really good and tight rock guitar your timing is very important. Here I will show you how to practice the basic figures in rock guitar by also including your body. Feeling the beat with your whole body makes your timing get up to the precision level of 100%. Pay close attention to my instructions and if you are an experienced player and you have never done this before you also should go back to the basics to reach the 100% precision level. Also practice the same exercises in different tempos. In this tutorial I am using 95, 85 and 105 bpm. After also reviewing the results of the YouTube online voting and the comments here I think I will initialize the guitar level certificates. There will be the following certificats available : The requirements will be written down soon - like for Blues Intermediate it shall be play 2 types of blues including the rhythm guitar + 3 chorus solo with question / answer concept. I also will monitor your rhythm presicion rate which for the intermediate level would be 75%. The professional of course will be 100%. All you need to do is to send me a video where you show the requirements - in this case max. 10 minutes. And if you pass the test you get the certificate here in the HPCrazy Guitar Academ which will be displayed in your personal account. The fee for the intermediate test will be 30 US$ which covers 15 minutes of my time. The concept is quiet open and you can decide yourself if you are ready for the test or not. If you don't pass the test there will be no refund of the test fee. So be sure you are ready to pass the test. If you are unsecure you still can book a private online lesson. Let me know if you like this concept and then I think I slowly will proceed. I also will make a video today to announce this new feature.

Easy Improvisation Concept Autumn Leaves - Jazz Guitar The jazz standard " Autumn Leaves " is a very standard jazz tune because the chord progression with Cm7 / F7 / Bbmaj7 / Ebmaj7 /Am7b5 / D7 is a very important modul in any jazz improvisation. You find this chord progression in many other jazz tunes and autumn leaves in the raw model for it. It makes sense to have an improvisation concept related to this chord progression. The concept is very easy to play and easy to understand but if you have never done it before I strongly recommend that you do so. The concept of the tests would be that I make a video or text where I decribe the requirements which are needed to pass a certain test. A student can decide then if one is ready for the test or not and if you want to make the test then you send a video where the requirements for that certain test have to be fullfilled in the range of the defined range. I would check the video and if a students passed the test you get the certificate here in your students profil. The final test - which the HPCrazy Guitar Diploma of course is very challenging and only a guitarist with a professional playing level can pass it. There a student which passes the test gets the certificate here in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy and also one printed which can be hand on a wall or so. The tests all are challenging for each level - so it is not easy to pass them. You need to fullfill all described requirements. The value of a certificate is only defined by it's strict executed requirements to pass.

Hey Charley, nice to hear from you again. I know that Carpel Tunnel syndrom. One of my students had that and in fact it leaded to a surgery and as far as I know all is fine again now. But I haven't seen him for like 2 or 3 years. 60 years ? Well thats some time - yes it's important to do things right and stay in a relaxed position - specially when you passed your 20's then it gets more and more important that you have a proper playing technique to reduce all stress and tension from your hands. If enough people really did for the certificates I would set up the thing. It's quiet a lot of work so I first wanted to hear opinions.

It took a while till we were able to do our first rehersal - today was the day and it was as I expected great. We discussed about adding more instruments but my quote which everybody agreed was, that there are so many bands with full instrumentation but only rare bands who make a trio with Drums, Bass and Guitar. Everybody agreed and so this is it now. We will start with the rehersals and hopefully soon be ready to publish something.
