Misty - Jazz Guitar Tabs and 3 Chorus Backing Track Here you find the tabs of the very popular jazz standard " Misty " - I wrote a version for you where you can play the theme. If you want to play the chords as well then please take the selection which I added for you. Those chords follow the melody so they work perfect if somebody is playing the melody. I have also added a backing track with 3 chorus of the AABA section of misty. In the 1st and 3rd chorus I follow the melody with the chords and in the middle part you can improvise the way you want. Shuffle Blues Guitar Riff - Tabs and Backing Track ( C - Blues ) Here you find the tabs of a blues guitar riff over a standard blues form in the key of C. It's a quite common riff but it sounds great and I have added some fill-ins which work with the riff. The first part is the full blues form with the riff and in the B-section you find some suggestions for the solo together with the riff and 2 repeating patterns which work great on a shuffle blues - specially when you play in a trio formation just with drum, bass and guitar. Essential Timing Exercises - full, half, quarter and 8th notes In rock guitar timing is very important. The more tight you play your chords or single note lines the more " rock " your guitar will sound. Here is now a summary of the main essential rhythm figures you need to know when it comes to rock guitar. Practice them with a click or a rock drum loop in different tempo's because every tempo feels different and also pay close attention that your foot is also hitting the click of the metronome or the quarter notes of the rock drum loop. The first part are the main rhythm figures which you need to know in detail how they feel, sound and how they look like in written notation. The second part are exercises from easy till advanced. You can control with the attached audio file if you have done the exercise correct. To achieve mastery in this topic also start to write your own exercises and play them with any chord you like. It has in fact been quite a while since I did my last guitar performance. Due to the situation in the world I was not really motivated to practice my daily guitar skills and after practicing daily since my age of 20 the nealry one year break was nice. But now I felt it's time to pick up the guitar again and it's fun again and in fact even I practiced daily again it took me a few weeks to get back to a professional level again where I can play a one hour solo concert. I always say that it is a difference to just make some noise on the guitar or to instant create music - that difference is only possible when doing a professional guitar training. So with this performance I feel I am back again and the rest will happen with the further performances again because what you can not practice is to get into the playing flow during a performance. Mixolydian Blues Guitar Licks - Tabs and Audio File Here you find a selection of advanced blues guitar licks which work on any A7 chord with a straight groove. Since I have a trio now with drum, bass and me one guitar I will work out more things which work out in a trio formation. It's quite a challenge to create a really cool sound. The goal is that each instrument has a lot of space for an individual expression and the guitar work will be challenging since this is some uncharted territory and I want to create a full sound with a combination of playing technique with chords, chords and melody at the same time and some " let - ring " licks and then add it up with delay and pitch shifter effects. It's going to be quite a challenge but I am looking forward to that. The song material at the moment is quite simple. Most of the songs are covers from rock, pop, easy jazz and blues or blues rock.
