Guitar Practice Notes, Files and Thoughts
I am currently doing a lot of technique exercises with Mrs. Blue. This guitar has really some much more dynamic possibilities in the expression of the pure sound then any other guitar I experienced in my professional career and this opens up a world which I always wanted to explore. I always used a lot of delay effects in my guitar sounds in order to make the sound more rich and wide but with this guitar I want to put it first to it's pure sound and so I am doing mainly exercises and practice work with a simple Fender Deluxe amp with a 2*12 cabinet and spring reverb. I studied jazz guitar but somehow in my professional life I drifted away to blues and rock and I must say that my guitar soul is in blues and rock guitar but I also loved jazz a lot. But what I always thought is that the typical jazz guitar sound lacks in emotional deepness as you would find in blues. So I want to make my jazz guitar style get this really bluesy vibe but with jazz material. There are some guys who play jazz in a blues fashion by adding blues licks and blues lines. But I would like to have jazz lines but with the emotional touch of typical blues guitar. And that's what I am currently working on a lot. The great thing is that I think with this guitar I will get where I always wanted to be in jazz guitar. My goal is to present the first results of my work on the guitar night of the 22th of Sept. - so if you are interested save the date and tune into the livestream then.

Guitar Practice Notes, Files and Thoughts
These arpeggio exercises are currently in my daily practice routine. I play the full program every day which takes me like 45 minutes and then I go for the mode exercises which I practice with different types of picking technique which are circle picking and tremolo picking on different speeds. This takes another 45 minutes of my daily practice work.

Arpeggio Exercises
View File Arpeggio Bootcamp Here you find a whole series of arpeggio exercises which represent all you can do if you want to enter the world of arpeggio's used as a tool in your soloing. These exercises are extremely demanding so I strongly recommend that you plan a few months of practice work for them. Even they seem to be very hard I recommend these exercises also for intermediate players because with these exercises you also learn where the chord notes of a specific chord all are which helps you a lot in your slow hand solo where you want to figure out the target notes which in fact are the notes from the arpeggio's. The exercises are showing you the diatonic triads of A, E and C type chords. Also crosscheck these exercises with your exercises of modes. The modes exercises are in the shape of the A and E type chords At the end you find the same arpeggio's with sweep picking technique which I only recommend for advanced players if you want to go for speed. They take a lot of practice work and are only recommended when you play guitar on a daily basis. Submitter admin Submitted 08/07/2023 Category Theory & Exercises

La Vie En Rose ( Edith Piaf )
Hey Bryan, welcome here in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. That's nice that you love this site - and in fact I want to make the jazz department really a high quality source for jazz guitar fans - even it's not so popular on YouTube. I added some chords which work with the melody in this PDF - not too easy to grab but the melody defines that you can not take regular chords. La Vie En Rose ( Edith Piaf ).pdf

Newsletter Archiv
Here's now the August 23 newsletter : Blues Last month we were checking out all that is needed to know about basic blues guitar riffs. Now this month you can take it a step further and go to the advanced blues guitar riffs. If you did the basic blues guitar riffs it should not be a huge problem to fulfill the task on this tutorial here : This month was the month of Chicago Blues Guitar Player - Hubert Sumlin. A member requested to do a tutorial about Chicago Blues guitar players. I tried to find a common feature which they have and in fact a lot of blues guitar players play with finger picking which is quite a different technique to the usual techniques but in fact the fingerpicking technique makes the sound of those early guys like Albert Collins, Johnny Guitar Watson, Magic Sam, Jimmy Reed and others. Rock N Roll If you want to play a solid and professional sounding rock n roll guitar then the Chuck Berry Style tutorial is all you need to know to fulfill the task. I joined a professional rock n roll band at the beginning of my career with that knowledge and it was enough to be on tour for 2 years. Rock Also in the rock guitar genre this was the month of the advanced rock riff tutorial. If you have gone through the basic rock guitar riff tutorial you might be hungry and ready for the advanced rock guitar riff tutorial. If you love Drop D rock guitar riffs then this one is for you. It's easy to play and sounds great. Jazz This was the month of jazz guitar improvisation with 2 great tutorials. If you love the tune " Sunny " but you have your difficulties with improvisation then this tutorial shall help you to get some cool professional sounding chops together which are still in the range of an intermediate smooth jazz guitar player. Jazz Blues is in fact a very important and central thing in jazz guitar improvisation. So it makes sense to really work out the jazz blues in detail and to always add new things and ideas to it. So here are some easy chops for jazz guitar fans to get more into jazz blues guitar improvisation. Free Member Download One of the most iconic guitar solos in pop and rock history is probably the solo of Eddie Van Halen in Michael Jackson's song " Beat It ". To understand its value you must understand the time when this song was recorded. Thriller was produced by the team around Quincy Jones which contained the best musicians of that time which produced most of the hit records of that time. Steve Lukather was a constant member of this team and his guitar work was on many hit records of that time. Out of this time later the band " Toto " got formed because they wanted to be more than just studio musicians. When Triller got recorded Eddie Van Halen was the hottest guitar player on the entire scene so Quincy Jones asked him to do the solo on " Beat It ". And so he did. Any other guitar player who later joined Micheal Jackons band needed to be able to play that specific solo. Jennifer Baten was a long time constant team member since Micheal Jackson prefered female guitar players and she was the only guitar player at the audition who was able to play that solo note by note. Shortly before Micheal Jackson died it was Orianthi who was able to play that solo and got the job. So it is worth having a look at this solo even though it's probably too hard for many players out there. I never tried it because I am not into Eddie Van Halen style and you need to have those skills to master that solo. But however this solo is worth a look and to give it a try. To download the file for free you need to hit the " Join " Button of the Guitar Students Club. Concerts On monday I will do my last piano concert in the small church of Seegräben in Switzerland. If you are nearby you might want to pop into the concert. After that concert I will continue the concerts with piano and guitar. The concert will also be broadcasted live. If you love it please support it with a donation. I will start with the HPCrazy Guitar Nights again. I thought I would make it in a bar in Zürich but the conditions there did not feel right to me and so I will continue to search for possibilities. One idea is to make it at a small venue here in Egg ZH in Switzerland and invite other players and my students to join and to start to have a great Guitar Community feeling once a month. I need the contribution of helpers which can be my students or other volonteers. We will see what comes but in the meanwhile I just make them as livestream from the HPCrazy Studio's. The first one will be on Sept. 22th. More information will come - which topic, which guitar, which venue and so on.... but if you love the idea you can support it with a donation here. New Song Generel Information During the summer break there was not so much going on. If you feel like you want to support the HPCrazy Guitar Academy with a premium membership please make a premium membership upgrade if you are not already a premium member. There are currently 400 premium members needed to get on a healthy economic basis. Here you can see the current number of premium members : LINK https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/subscriptions/ That's all for the moment. I wish everybody a nice summer holiday break. There are still like 2-3 weeks remaining to relax a bit. Best HP
