Here I recorded a spontaneous take after the videoshoot of the minor blues guitar tutorial. I wanted to get a puristic approach to minor blues and relating to Peter Greens style back from the 60's with a strong spring reverb effect and no additional effects. I have used a Vibra King amp with a 2*12 cabinet with an off-axis microphone setting, a large spring reverb with a mix level of 25% and a dunlop cry baby. I began the recording with finger picking and in the 3rd chorus I switched to normal pic technique. The great thing with puristic recordings is that these details in fact matter. Jazz Basic Smooth Jazz Guitar 1 : This is the first of many tutorials to come where you can take your step from an intermediate blues guitar player to a solid intermediate smooth jazz guitar player. Jazz Guitar - Old Style Comping : Here I show you some basic movements of the old style comping technique for jazz guitar. Music Theory Theory about Chords ( Triads & 7th Chords ) : Here you find a brief introduction into the theory of chords. You learn how chords are buildt by stacking up triads of a scale. Chords with 2 stacks are triads and chords with 3 stacks result into 7th chords. You also learn what inversions are. ---------- Music I have decided to start producing music again an highlighting my efforts in my main genre grid which I call " Farbmusik " . Different then the normal genre classification I will put music in the catagories " red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet ". All new music will have the tag which also marks the color. Here we have new music. The description of the new farbmusik will come in german and english. Fly Dove Fly ( violet ) Here I have created a cinematic composition based on the style of Hans Zimmer, which will also be played live with some guitar effects. The key of F# minor is very emotional and expressive and matches the color "violet". I based the title on a scene from Kevin Costner's movie "Postman". Vampires Want To Live Forever ( red ) Here is a cinematic piece in the style of Hans Zimmer and color music. A dramatic "red" with a concert piano and a cello which provides the necessary dramaturgy. I will play all new songs live on the upcoming Farbmusik concerts. Here I composed a cinematic blues rock original which also falls into the Farbmusik genre. It's a dark red. The task was to get a hypnotic sound with one guitar riff and to build up the whole tune and add one element after each other. You can hear 4 guitars in the stereo field. One has a swampy tremolo effect and the other 2 guitars have a creamy distortion which fits to the drop D tuning the guitars are using. The lead guitar is a sound where I use some really wide multidelays to create such a wide sound. The task is to play the lead guitar really precise because there are so many delay effects on it. On the FX section you here gunshots in the background which go alone with the title of the song and I love to add cinematic string orchestra arrangements which pull the tune into more emotions and expression. It was really about time that I overworked the entire website now and made the whole thing as compact and cooperate identity look style as possible. Now I am proud to announce that the new website is online now. Check : http://www.hanspeterkruesi.com The idea was always to pull all my services and all my work to one website and now it's done. One of the main hard tasks was that there are in fact so many services and projects. They are still all out there but all roads and links will now lead to this website here. This important update is also part of my new strategy I worked on since more than one year to free myself from all social media plattforms. I don't believe that they will have a consistant future as they had in the past. Many users are upset by them changing community guidelines all the time only for their advantage and the abuse of there personal data on this plattforms. Here on this website your personal data is completly save and will never be used for something else then the monthly newsletter and you can completly delete your data anytime. Also digital music distribution is overgoing dramatic changes. Spotify announced that only artists over 1000 streams per song will get any royalities payed out. Then earning of the artists which are below that will go to the bigger artists. That's something I can not support anymore. And there are now more and more restrictions for artist who want to distribute there music in Spotify and other plattforms. I will do special edition distribution here on this website - for music which is not allowed in the official stores anymore or just because I want to make my music faster available for users. So this is a major shift in my online and digital strategies. And as a personal note - when Facebook and co came up I knew this would not lead to something good and it was in fact a mistake to spend so much time keeping up on social media strategies. In these days the situation has changed so much that the ammount of time you have to spend to reach as much people as before as exceeded a healthy balance in the workflow. So this website is now my personal anwser to the developments which started to go in the wrong direction since 2018.

Maybe other students give there voice on this topic. What I can say is that age is not a problem when it comes to guitar playing and the movement of the fingers and hands. I have one live-student at the moment who can only hear on one ear and he is doing great with playing by ear.

On guitar I have been a legato and touch technique player for many years. Since I first started as a pianist in my career I always wanted to get to the same playing abilities with both hands on guitar by just transferring my piano style to guitar. I remember when I started that journey. It was short after my studies at Swiss music university I wanted to make a solo program based on this technique and there I played the first simple tune but at the end it took me many years to get this playing technique to perfection and like 3-4 years ago I felt I can not develop further as a guitarist if I would only focus on this technique. But I love the smoothness of the sound of legato playing and tapping. It creates such A nice flow in the playing which you can not achieve when you just do the regular picking technique. But on the other hand some things are not possible when you only go for the legato technique. So facing these facts I decided to start my journey to economic picking like 2 years ago starting with the first arpeggio exercises you can view here. It took a while till my fingers and hands could do all stretch movements which are created by these exercises. First I just did these exercises with alternate picking but later I started to do those exercises with economic picking meaning that I would use economic picking on all spots where possible. This was harder than I thought - even when you are able to play the arpeggio's properly with alternate picking technique it took me one additional year to get the movements nice, smooth and fluent with economic picking that it would sound as nice and smooth as by using the legato technique. Now finally I have reached a spot where I can start to use those endless exercises in a creative way in upcoming jazz and smooth jazz interpretations and improvisations. The main task is that this technique shall be used spontaneously in an improvisation and not just by playing a long lick of phrase which you learned by heart. I feel now after 2 years the first results are working now which I soon will present with recordings and I will also share some licks and ideas here for those who want to give it a try. :-)
