Your plan looks very good - I have only one suggestion or advice since I know how you are playing. I would not spend too much time on technical issues because your technique is very developed for your current playing and knowledge level - Probably I would skip 5 minutes of technical practice and add it to the fun part. Yes you made one of the major mistakes a lot of students are doing. You wanted to go through everything too fast - like discribed in my article http://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/guitarschoo...p?showtopic=178 - the marathon part Your goals where not realistic on the long term, but still you did not do wrong since you have reached a lot in the time you already played, but you have to avoid the deadliest thing that can happen that you stop regularity after the first motivation run. Better take a total break of a few weeks and then reconsider your schedules and get that regularity into your daily schedules with work and familly. If you don't have that much time - then it would be better just to play a few songs and add some practice goals like 5 - 10 min daily. This should keep it up.

Your week must have something like 200 hours In generall you are spending too much time on exercises which only on topic. 3 repeats would be OK. Once you can play the exercises properly in a good tempo you can start to select something else to get more input but still working on the technique. As an example : You are playing 3 years now I guess so you can skip the chromatic exercises to more advanced stuff where you can use all fingers. Maybe you check out the 3 note - per - string scales or scales in generall in different positions. Barré Chords : You are advanced enough to go a step further. Work on more complex chords maybe the basic jazz chords. Even when you don't want to play jazz you can learn a lot from the stuff and maybe it gives you more inspiration. Modes : Why not playing a mode a week. You can swith between lydian and Ionian from one week to an other. They are related - learn the theoretical difference between them and the other modes and learn those interval steps which define a mode by heart and on the fretboard. The rest looks good so far.

Practice plans I have created this section that you can post your practice plans and workouts in order to compare them with other students and to get some workout and practice tips from me. If you are a beginner or nearly a pro - the practicing process never stops and always has to be adapted to your current level and your timemanagement and your short - and long term goals you have. How do you create a practice plan ? 1 . Open a new topic. 2 . Check how much time you can invest in a regular manner. Best would be daily, but if this is not possible try to make a plan to create that regularity. 3 . Define your short and long term goal in guitarplaying and write it down. Find out what is required to reach your goals. If you don't know it you can ask for advice in your pratice plan. I will give you some tips, add links and give you a honest opinion. 4 . If you think that you can manage the entire practice plan on the long term - you can start with your practicing. If not you have to reconfigure your goals and your practice plan. Therefore you can ask for my advice or discuss this with other students. That was very impressive and made me kind of proud even that the music I wrote for that movie is not what I normaly would do. 28.03.09 It has been some time since my last blog entry. I was pretty busy but I also needed a break since I have been working very hard in the last months. But still here are some news : Music-pictures.com I have made a new entry page on http://www.music-pictures.com . It took me around 24 hours till I got into the technique how to do this and then to get that entrymovie on the emotional and expressive level I wanted to have. The goal was that any visitor which comes to that site feels that you find some expressive, emotional music there and that I also do work as a scoring composer, right on any kind of movie or that you can get music which can be used for TV & movie. But still not having the focus only on this. It is the entire artwork with music, pictures, colors, emotions. Colormusic During my liveperfomances in Zürich from Januar till now I found out that on the one hand a lot of people do not understand what colormusic is. And a lot of people think this has to do something with esoteric or since the concerts were in church with religious topics. This is not correct. What is right is that the philosphy behind my music and the colormusic in special has to do with spiritual thoughts, but it is either christian, nor esoteric, nor anything other. My philosophy is based on music and it's emotional impact and what music can do for people. Colors is only one way of expression... I found out that emotions ( best would be positiv ) is what it is all about in music and that if you can bring emotions into your music you can change people and as a consequence can change things. So the colormusic is only a tool for me to get music closer to any kind of people. That's why I started to change the colorclips since some people said it is too esoteric. In fact I always loved the style of Standley Jordan - not only the playing but the tone which is created with the touch technique, and for me this playing is natural, since I grew up beeing a pianist before an injury stopped me and forced me to change to guitar. Yes it takes a lot of time. But I always been I great fan of flash animated movies with music. This is where I started to get into scoring and composing for movies some years ago. You need to have a passion for it to really go through the whole thing and suffer till you get to the point where the result gets perfect. I worked through the whole night and that was the reason why I left St. Moritz that fast because I wanted to do that flash movie. I know I am a bit crazy

Thanks - that was really a lot of work. You wouldn't believe it when you look at it. I used jumpeyecomponents.com effects in combination with flash CS3. Still those components create great effects but it really takes time to get everything properly synchronized to the music and that the pictures give a natural flow with the music. I used Nuendo of course to gether with different sounds. A have a whole bundle of sounds but the main softsyth is Omnishere. HP

I know - I think it is to let a place sound highclass. I had a room but I did not stay over night - I did not feel too confortable there. Only the very rice people do stay there - and most of the were russian. But I played for an american buisness evening. I already knew that guy. He has kind of the Justin King style. I have been performing on guitar in the world famous Palace hotel in St. Moritz yesturday. http://www.badruttspalace.com/ . I have been playing in many first class hotels in my career, but THIS was in fact something very special. I wouldn't say that I liked the place - it is too much on high society and too much super rich people - but I have been there - and you should have seen the faces of the people when I parked my old fiat punto in front of the hotel beside all those rollce royes, bentleys, maybach's and other cars. The looked at me as I would be an alien. :-D Greets HP

I use the riva encoder. It's a free tool. Still works great to encode any video into .flv. Then you just enter the url of that file into the code of the flashplayer. That's it. But I paid 90US$ for that player, but it was worth.
