Slowing things a bit down
It has been again a long time since my last blog entry. It has of course a reason. I was forced to slow things down because unpredicable health problems showed up and they put my career in danger. Since march 11 I suddenly have problems with both hands. Its not so bad that I can't play guitar anymore but still it is something I have to think about. I got several opinions what the cause might be of these problems. Till now there is no unique diagnosis. I personally believe that it is now time to slow down things. I have been working very hard in the past years and have some very difficult situations to deal with - also in my personal life and to be honest I always thought that it is a miricle that I always stayed healthy so I was able to do was had to be done. And now since I have finished everything and this constant pressure has reduced a lot now I could start to relax and now I have to pay the price for this phase which lasted 5 years. But as I said I can still play guitar, still make musc but I have to take care a bit till I get 100% healthy again. I have already started with some changements. I will focus on the important things in my work. This is teaching, composing and playing. No extra stuff anymore. On playing I will work less on speed accuracy and virtuosity but on building a 100% connection with the instrument anytime. On piano I went through such a process many years ago where I faced similar problems but at the end I became a much better player then before. This will also happen now on guitar. My students might already noticed the changment in my teaching style. Everybody is learning this now. Building a true connection to the guitar to your feelings in music and your abilities to express and explore music on any level and any situation. This is my way, my path with I now truely started and I like it I must say. But I take it step by step. So stress anymore. Music is part of life and it will happen as life happens. And yes this is another news in my personal life. I will start to learn how to life beside work. I never did it. Nows the time. But this is also music. HP

Convinced playing
Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to show how you can play the guitar and then it did not work the way you wanted or didn't really know what to play to show how you can play guitar. The magic word for this is to be conviced and sure in what you are doing whatever your current playing level is. You can do a great job even if you know only a few licks and a fuew chords. In this lesson I show you some ideas how you can be more secure in your playing. It is now about what to play but about how you play and having the right focus. So thats why there are no tabs here. http://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/guitarschool/index.php?showtopic=1405

Dynamics, Expression and Improvisation on Sologuitar
This is a pretty open lesson where I show you a basic fingerpicking riff with easy chords. You can choose the one I am showing or something similar then try to get into improvisation and into expression and dynamics and improvisation. Since the licks and riffs are not so hard to play the trick is to have the focus on your expression, the way you feel the groove, the riff and the fill ins. There is acutally no way in teaching creativity because it is individual but if you learn to get a connection between you and your guitar and you start to feel the music and you are able to create different types of expression and dynamics you will be able to get into your own way of expression and this is what music is all about. So try to get the basic licks of this lesson and then work on the dynamics, the mood you want to create and just play. If you want to get more familiar with this kind of picking technique you might check the Mark Knopfler Video. Get the lesson here.

Guitar video - all styles
- Jingle Bells - Touch Technique
- SRV - Tightrope
Since SRV has his guitar tuned down to Eb ( half step ) its a bit tricky to teach. If you tune your guitar down you can use the original jamtrack and the tabs as they are displayed. And I show you how to play the original version of the intro at the beginning with these openstring parts. If you have a normal tuned guitar you can either use the alternate jamtrack to practice the openstring version. I the video I mainly use the alternatve version with a normal tuned guitar. Here you can use the normal jamtrack. For soloing you can use any kind of standard pentatonic licks but pay close attention to my instrustions about playing with punch. This is what it is all about at least about this solo. The interpretation of SRV is great and the punch and relaxed playing is just awesome but the material he plays is basic stuff. Here some examples : http://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/guitarschool/index.php?showtopic=908 http://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/guitarschool/index.php?showtopic=903 Here a lesson where you can learn to create this punch with soundsettings and playing technique : LESSON but of course you have to know the pentatonics in all positions or at least in position 1 + 2 to play this stuff and then you jump up to the high position.- George Benson - Tutorial

A few tricks to get into the styoe of George Benson.- Farbmusik
Thanks I was in Germany on the weekend. I was invited to join a healing session where the methods of Dr. Klinghart are used. I dont know the exact expression of it. Kind of a kineoslogic thing. And this theraphist has working with my music since march 10 and now the results are here. It really works and has big potential to become a main tool in this kind of theraphy work. I was astonished to watch this concept with my music in it. It very very impressive and serios work what I was able to see.- La Grange

Farbmusik http://www.farbmusik.com concert The past weeks I basicly just was busy with my " Farbmusik " . I had a concert on oct. 2nd where I needed to practice a 90 minutes soloperformance. This was very demanding. But I was glad that this time Tatjana Nikic entered Farbmusik with her contribution. She did a great performance and understood what it was about. The concert turned out to be the best in the past years. This is what some said. Somebody recorded the concert on video. So for all those how missed it it is available here : http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=996330A0E653F397 AIC 2011 Farbmusik entered the " call of papers " for the AIC 2011. An internation symposium " Interaction of colour and light in arts and science " . Here is my contribution. Casting show Farbmusik got invited to contribute to a big casting show at Swiss TV. The first casting will take place in one week. Dont know if I will make it to the next round. But I give it a try.- my first practic Plan
Fretboard geographics is a major topic when you are learning to play. So any kind of trick which helps you is of course good. My system which I teach and works out fine with scales is also to learn that each scale is a summary of intervalls. Once you get into modes this is a great help and allows you to save a lot of time. I think this is a topic which I could consider making a tutorial series. Greetings HP - Jingle Bells - Touch Technique
