Guitarmusic in the Palace in St. Moritz.
In fact I always loved the style of Standley Jordan - not only the playing but the tone which is created with the touch technique, and for me this playing is natural, since I grew up beeing a pianist before an injury stopped me and forced me to change to guitar. Yes it takes a lot of time. But I always been I great fan of flash animated movies with music. This is where I started to get into scoring and composing for movies some years ago. You need to have a passion for it to really go through the whole thing and suffer till you get to the point where the result gets perfect. I worked through the whole night and that was the reason why I left St. Moritz that fast because I wanted to do that flash movie. I know I am a bit crazy

Guitarmusic in the Palace in St. Moritz.
Thanks - that was really a lot of work. You wouldn't believe it when you look at it. I used jumpeyecomponents.com effects in combination with flash CS3. Still those components create great effects but it really takes time to get everything properly synchronized to the music and that the pictures give a natural flow with the music. I used Nuendo of course to gether with different sounds. A have a whole bundle of sounds but the main softsyth is Omnishere. HP

Guitarmusic in the Palace in St. Moritz.
I know - I think it is to let a place sound highclass. I had a room but I did not stay over night - I did not feel too confortable there. Only the very rice people do stay there - and most of the were russian. But I played for an american buisness evening. I already knew that guy. He has kind of the Justin King style. That really sounds great, but I guess there is one special trick behind it because Justin King sound very similar and I think it is even the same key Worked hard this night - check the entry page of http://www.music-pictures.com

Guitarmusic in the Palace in St. Moritz.
I have been performing on guitar in the world famous Palace hotel in St. Moritz yesturday. http://www.badruttspalace.com/ . I have been playing in many first class hotels in my career, but THIS was in fact something very special. I wouldn't say that I liked the place - it is too much on high society and too much super rich people - but I have been there - and you should have seen the faces of the people when I parked my old fiat punto in front of the hotel beside all those rollce royes, bentleys, maybach's and other cars. The looked at me as I would be an alien. :-D Greets HP

New videoplayer
I use the riva encoder. It's a free tool. Still works great to encode any video into .flv. Then you just enter the url of that file into the code of the flashplayer. That's it. But I paid 90US$ for that player, but it was worth.

New videoplayer
Updated the touch technique section. The videos still are the older ones with the 4:3 screen but now with the fullscreen mode.

New videoplayer
So now all HD updates work with the new player. You find them at the " courses " in the theching videos section.

New videoplayer
Ok the timeline will be like that now. All future videos will have that fullscreen mode. Any HD update and the already existing HD vids will have that fullscreen mode too. The older videos will maybe replaced sometime - but it currently does not make too much sense replacing all of them. But from now one we will have a FULLSCREEN mode and hopefully no browserbugs anymore.

In fact yes - this is one thing I learnt from my dad who was in international top manager for many years. " If you never have done something before - always say " I can do it " " ! By the way I will be the featured artist of the month at taxi.com - this is real great news. There you get all those TV and movie placements I don't know the english word for that. But you get it when you play too much - and I had it in my right hand. I couldn't even hold a cup without any pain. The doctor gave me a 50% change that I could play piano again. Then I switch to guitar. It was painful when I started, but since the movment of the right hand was not the same like on piano I was able to play and after 6 months I only felt pain when I played piano. Then I started to practice 10 - 16 hours daily to get back into professional buisness. Those were very hard times for me. I had to start from the very beginning. I played guitar beside at that time, but my abilities were pretty limited because I started with guitar at the age of 20 - and piano I played since I was 7 I think. Today I can play both instruments on a similar level. On my liveperformances I always play both.

Yes the producer is a pretty conservative guy. Well this was my first step in real scoring buisness. Now I can tell the truth - I never did that before, so it came out pretty well and I earn very much money for that - and this might lead to more exiting productions. That was my idea as well. HP

I know - but that was not my idea. But then I had the idea of making a great clip with different tensions and moods with the music. The very first beta version was great acutally - I told the producer, that it would make sense on this concept to create something which keeps the attention of the viewer over the whole 30 minutes but he cutted it down on what you see know. Even the intro was more bombastic with great hollywood sound effects. He didn't like it. On the car race and the powergeneration I had great guitarmusic with a great emotional impact and on the carbon thing there there was a heavy pumping hiphop groove with rock guitar riffs. Looked great ... now I don't like it too much. It's OK but pretty boring. I had to get it done in the range of 160 hours - that was kind of a big pressure to get all those changements and edits done in that time. The music was composed direct to the clips with Nuendo. I did the mastering with Wavelab 6.0 and Waves mastering plug ins. YES - had had a lots lots of headaches... I'm so glad it is finished. For the next time I will think about it since I didn't really know what I was expecting.... HP

12.02.09 Finished the movie I am so glad that I could finish the movie which kept me busy over weeks. I took me 171 hours to score that movie. The movie is the 175 anniverary movie for the internation Swiss company SULZER. That was quite a challenge. The movie contains only music & pictures so I had to compose 30 minutes of music. You can check the movie at http://www.music-pictures.com/sulzer.wmv. My favorite scenes are the beginning of " Powergeneration " and " Hydro carbon processors ". But to tell you the truth - I don't want to see any turbines and pumpes for the next 20 years anymore. - and I really need some holidays :-D Liveperformances I started the liveperformance series in the St. Jakobs Church in Zürich with the red and the orange concert. The people really loved my music and my presentation of those 2 colors and I guess this was one of the first times where you could here a great leadguitar sound in that church :-D Those who missed it or it has been to far away to come - check the links to listen to the music I played and the small movie which was looped. http://www.music-pictures.com/red/index.htm http://www.music-pictures.com/orange/index.htm Green and lightblue will be next. Check http://www.music-pictures.com/live.htm One thing which showed up is that quite a lot of people do not understand the relation between colors and music - even that they love what they heard and saw. This is a phänomen called " synesthesia ". When you check history you will see that a lot of known musicians and artist knew this and they worked with it.

That's why the touch technique was acutally not very difficult for me - from that point of view. From the technical side the touch technique is really tough. But I am slowly getting on a new level there. You can expect a new CD in the near future. As soon as I have more time. It depends - but I just had the situation yesturday where the producer of the movie did not like the beat of one song I composed. I told him that the beat was just what made the song sound like that. Sometimes a slight changement in some sound settings gets you a complete new mood. An I mostly come from the beat - side . I love modern beats - but really this depends. Some years ago I wrote a lot of jazzy songs when I was working a lot as a jazzpianist. Now I am more on the electronic, new age side. Thats whats my music meant to be HP

Hey guys, I know this is a very sexy message in a online guitarschool - but I just got my piano song " Liebe " signed by a UK library. They will use that song for TV placement on BBC or others. You can listen to it here - its track no. 16 http://www.pianist.ch/pianoradio/index.htm For those who did not know where I learnt the touch techniqe. I am a professional pianist too and I have to stop playing for about 7 years because of a injury. There I switched to guitar - now I am playing piano beside.
