Here you find the basic knowledge to work with the modes on a II V I progression in jazz guitar. In this case it's Am7 / D7 / Gmaj7 / Gmaj7. Learning the modes means that you learn the grid in which a chord moves inside its mode. These are the chord notes : root, 3rd and 5th. With these exercises you can start to work with the modes by targeting the chord notes. These files are associated to this tutorial :Free- 1 review

There are 3 types displayed. Syncopation, Play & Rest and finally quarter triplets. The 2nd audio file is an audio which shows you how the examples exactly sound alike together with the backing track. These files are associated to this tutorial here :Free-

Blue Bossa - Jazz Guitar Backing Track This is a recording of my dear guitar buddy Daniel Solimine. He is an expert for jazz guitar strumming and rhythm guitar. So I wanted to share this backing track he did for me some time ago. It's a version of Blue Bossa and it starts with a 8 bar intro and then it goes into the tune. Playing along with only a rhythm guitar is a bit more challenging because you need to have your ears more open to what the rhythm guitar is doing and play along with it. It's normal that the timing is not 100% on the point because the drummer is missing. But the great thing is that you have more space to feel and interact during your soloing. Daniel did a great job now it's up to you to join the jam. Here you find the original realbook score if you don't remember the chords.Free -
