Here we are working on your first steps to play some double stops inside your slow blues guitar solo. The main task in fact is to always know where you are, to select the right double stops and to play them with a cool rhythm pattern. You can take any double stops if you check the chord which is played at the current point inside the blues form but I am showing you the most common double stops and the most common basic rhythm patterns. Once you have those ones done properly with your slow blues guitar training you are ready to become creative and make any combinations.

Here we are starting with the first basic licks in this basic rock guitar training course. I show you some basic licks in the E minor pentatonic position in the open string position and in the normal position in the XIIth fret. The focus on those licks are not so much the notes you play but more to find a confortable position of your picking hand. You can start to practice that with the licks in the E minor positon with the open strings and once your feel confortable you can move in the XIIth fret. The same is with the speed of the licks. There are 2 versions available. Start with the slower speed in 8th notes and then switch to the faster speed with 16th notes. Best would be that you can change the speed any time with no problems. Also I show you the first bendings which are a very crucial part in any rock guitar solo.

Here we are working on the most important automatism when it comes to rock guitar training. It's the form and putting in different elements and chord combinations into the musical form.

Most players hat difficulties to start working with modes, understand when modes are used, how they are used and they come from the world of the pentatonic and an understanding of the pentatonic. So here we connect the dots and make first steps into the world of modes.

Here i show you the essential things you need to know when you want to play chords oder solo over the aeolian mode in a jazz guitar setting. Playing the aeolian mode is very close to the regular minor pentatonic playing mode which most players already know from blues, rock or other genres but still it's not recommended to go into that direction if you want to play jazz guitar. So here I show you the essential tips and tricks you need to know.

Here I show you the essentials you need to know to play the mixolyidan mode in a cool jazz guitar settings. This includes some essential chords, essential patterns and a selection of ideas and licks where you learn the essentials how to use the mixolydian mode. You always focus on the chord notes in the case of g7 this would be the G,B, D and in most cases you focus on the B ( 3rd ) and approach it with the A#.

Here I show you my view on the essentials you need to know if you want to master the lydian mode. I show you some chords, useful patterns and some easy tricks to display the lydian mode. The trick is in fact to focus on the options in the lydian mode which in the case of F lydian is the G ( 9th ) and the B ( #11 ) - this creates the mystical feel if you want to outline the magic of the lydian mode.

Great rock guitar solo's always have bigger parts of legato playing included. So the legato playing technique has to get trained as well. In general it is called the Hammer - On and the Pull - Off technique were I show you the very first steps where you can start to train your abilities of legato playing in rock guitar. We start in the very easy open string position of the E minor pentatonic to get to know this technique and then we move it up to the regular position in the XIIth fret.

Here I show you the essentials which you can play when you play the phrygian mode on jazz guitar. This includes cool chord combinations, some soloing with the pentatonic but also the phrygian mode and some ideas with some upper structure triads. In the case of the E phrygian mode the F and the F major chord or arpeggio are the most defining factors if you want to high light the phrygian mode and don't want to let it sound like a regular minor pentatonic improvisation.
