Then I switch to guitar. It was painful when I started, but since the movment of the right hand was not the same like on piano I was able to play and after 6 months I only felt pain when I played piano. Then I started to practice 10 - 16 hours daily to get back into professional buisness. Those were very hard times for me. I had to start from the very beginning. I played guitar beside at that time, but my abilities were pretty limited because I started with guitar at the age of 20 - and piano I played since I was 7 I think. Today I can play both instruments on a similar level. On my liveperformances I always play both.

Yes the producer is a pretty conservative guy. Well this was my first step in real scoring buisness. Now I can tell the truth - I never did that before, so it came out pretty well and I earn very much money for that - and this might lead to more exiting productions. That was my idea as well. HP

I know - but that was not my idea. But then I had the idea of making a great clip with different tensions and moods with the music. The very first beta version was great acutally - I told the producer, that it would make sense on this concept to create something which keeps the attention of the viewer over the whole 30 minutes but he cutted it down on what you see know. Even the intro was more bombastic with great hollywood sound effects. He didn't like it. On the car race and the powergeneration I had great guitarmusic with a great emotional impact and on the carbon thing there there was a heavy pumping hiphop groove with rock guitar riffs. Looked great ... now I don't like it too much. It's OK but pretty boring. I had to get it done in the range of 160 hours - that was kind of a big pressure to get all those changements and edits done in that time. The music was composed direct to the clips with Nuendo. I did the mastering with Wavelab 6.0 and Waves mastering plug ins. YES - had had a lots lots of headaches... I'm so glad it is finished. For the next time I will think about it since I didn't really know what I was expecting.... HP

12.02.09 Finished the movie I am so glad that I could finish the movie which kept me busy over weeks. I took me 171 hours to score that movie. The movie is the 175 anniverary movie for the internation Swiss company SULZER. That was quite a challenge. The movie contains only music & pictures so I had to compose 30 minutes of music. But to tell you the truth - I don't want to see any turbines and pumpes for the next 20 years anymore. - and I really need some holidays :-D Liveperformances I started the liveperformance series in the St. Jakobs Church in Zürich with the red and the orange concert. This is a phänomen called " synesthesia ". When you check history you will see that a lot of known musicians and artist knew this and they worked with it.

That's why the touch technique was acutally not very difficult for me - from that point of view. From the technical side the touch technique is really tough. But I am slowly getting on a new level there. You can expect a new CD in the near future. As soon as I have more time. It depends - but I just had the situation yesturday where the producer of the movie did not like the beat of one song I composed. I told him that the beat was just what made the song sound like that. Sometimes a slight changement in some sound settings gets you a complete new mood. An I mostly come from the beat - side . I love modern beats - but really this depends. Some years ago I wrote a lot of jazzy songs when I was working a lot as a jazzpianist. Now I am more on the electronic, new age side. Thats whats my music meant to be HP

I guess so Well the best thing is to have your music in the download stores if it works and you sell your music. The problem is that many other are doing the same thing too which makes it hard to find your specific song. A publisher would solve this problem a bit - but it is very hard to find a publisher. But if you have a good one thats great. I was lucky to get a contract with a very situated publisher of TV & film music in Hollywood - they had the contacts to get my music to ABC. HP

I heard from the agency who got me that placement that I have a good change to get into resynchronization - which means that that series will be translated to 100 languages and will be spread all over the world - AND I will get money for each time that series will be broadcasted. :-) I guess I think about buying me a Ferrari now - An orange one * LOL * Teaching I have that much work that I really have to set priorities. I am currenty thinking about to stop teaching my regular students or at least to stop adding new ones. I only teach 5 students a week and some of them are with me since years and I have a resposibility - but I am stuck in work. Well of course I have a piano which is connected with Midi to the PC and then I play those software plugins. You don't need a full piano, a small keyboard with a Midiwire is OK too. Well Nuendo is really only for pro's - but I would purchase a software which a least supports VST instruments. HP

Hi Denis, thanks this is in fact great - even that I never watched that serial before. I don't know that site you are talking about but it looks promissing and seems to be a good opportunity to get your music to the producers. I use Nuendo 4 but I worked with Cubase before. Nuendo is just better for movie synchronisation stuff. And I use waves plugins and a lot off additional plugins. I don't work with midi controllers so I can not give you any advice. Still doing stuff with the keyboard and the mouse. HP
