The task in fact is to use those double stops and always know where inside the current blues form you are and after you completed the exercises start to become creative and use any pattern and exercise as long as you stay in the blues form. Here you find a very easy but cool Robben Ford style blues guitar riff which is using a chord voicing which just gets move one fret up oder down and creates a cool blues riff with the progression : E7#9 / A13 / E7#9 / B13.
You can improvise with the E minor blues scale on the E7#9 chord and with that scale including the C# on the A13 chords. On the B13 I recommend using either just the chord notes of the B7 chord or the half tone - full tone scale which sounds great on this specific situation. I have wrote a little example where you can check it out. The backing track is produced in the room of the famous " Bird Land " café in NY.
