I already did a while ago
I saw a couple of clip where you were playing live
You seem to be into touch technique
I also heard a few of your songs that you have posted, I dont remember on what site. Some were just beautiful.
Do you have any success in selling your songs on the web ? Do you feel that there's a market for instrumental music
Do you actually compose music for singers ?
I dont have ambitions of selling mine but I guess it's just to protect my copyrights that I dont allow people to download my songs on soundclick without paying for.
You never know when one could become a hit if it would be stolen by some musician or producer.
As I was saying to Jim , before Christmas I think I'm going to pay myself a day in a professionnal recording studio to record some of the songs ( 2 or 3 )
that I have composed. It's not too expensive , about 275 $ per day so I may try the experience.
My recording capability is very basic It's just good enough to have a good idea of what songs may sound like

Hans,
The picture I'm getting in my mind listening to your song Powergeneration is the fight for survival of animals living in the Artic where glacers are rapidely melting due to climate changes.
Animals like the polar bears which are in great danger of extinction. So I'd call this song FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL
Someone else may picture something else but this is my input if it can be of any help to you in naming your song

For the type of work you're doing you probably need that sort of high end product Nuendo costs about 1700$ US which is alot of money but for you as a professionnal artist it's a good investment.
If you dont use a MIDI controller does that mean that you use Virtual instruments plug ins of the software. As I dont know much about this I'm just not sure what to do to build a complete home recording sudio but i'll figure it out with a scientific approach called Trial and error lol

Densyl got a reaction from Randy in First Hollywood placementGreat job HP !!!!
Very happy for you.
I dont know if you know about the website Broadjam.com You can actually post your songs there for such opportunities . It costs money to register your song for an opportunity Depending on your membership it cost 5 to 10 $. I actually have registered one of my song for a soap opera that is looking for a love song, ballad. My song called I love you,
I have bought a new recording software Sonar 8 studio. I will get it next week and I plan to re record all my songs. I bought also reference headphones so now I can hear really how goog my song recordings sound. Wow what a shock lol. They really need to be re recorded.
Tell me HP what is your setup for recording
I Plan on buying a midi controller Never used such tools Is there any advice you can give me
Greta job again HP

I certainly can recognize your style of playing touch technique in your piano playing style
Music does'nt have to be sexy. If it makes you feel good and if it touches someone's soul, that's great. It's a good thing that there are different genres of music. Imagine going to a caffe to meet with a nice woman that you'd want to date and there would be heavy metal music playing loud in ther caffe !!!! You'd have a hard time talking about anything
I just finished remaking one of my songs with my new DAW. I did this to practice working with softsynths and so I ended up making somewhat of a disco version of my song I love you which is in the original version a love song that feels more like a broadway type of song. It's at the same tempo (100bpm) but it's surprizing to hear such a difference in style although obviously the melody has'nt changed.
There's something I learned from this exercice. It is that I should try different beats when writing a song. The end result can be surprizing.
When composing do you actually try different different beats to see how your song would sound and feel ?

Densyl got a reaction from Randy in 10. january 09Ok my song is going to be in all major download store in a few weeks. You're probably right about the difficulty for a noname artist like myself to get people to click on the song. If something good happens with my song it will most probably be in not less than 6 months.
thanks for your opinion

This is all great !!!!
And it's no luck. You've work very hard to get there.
What can be better in life than earning a living with your passion. Nothing !!!
If you can buy 2 Ferraris I won't be jealous lol
Anyways a Ferrari is useless in snow storms like we get in Canada lol
You know, I've copyrighted 2 songs , one being Music is my life and I found a website Songcast that distributes your songs to all the major WEB music stores I guess like I tunes. Napster etc.... My song will be posted on these sites in a few weeks. I read that sales of songs by unit instead of CD is increasing by more than 40% on the WEB. Do you think it's a good idea. The other option is to find a publisher to sell my song. So I took a chance with Songcast. Cant hurt
Again great news, great achievement for you !!!

That's quite a different concept for a corporate presentation which usually uses narration. Was that your idea ?
You worked 171 hours on the project. Being a different concept did you have an unlimited amount of hours allocated to the project and you ended up with working those 171 hours ?
You had to maintain some unity for the project as a whole. Did you composed most music clips within about the same tempo. I guess you provided them with your music clips and then their were added to the video. Did you do the mastering of the music with your own DAW or you provided them with the mix which was then mastered ?
Anyways , very well done. You must have had headaches at times.

Densyl got a reaction from Randy in Guitarmusic in the Palace in St. Moritz.HP,
Very very nice entry page. Are you using Macromedia Director ? for the multimedia part ? and then you use Nuendo to add the music theme ?
I have Sonar producer edition as DAW and it has softsynths but I havent found anything that sounds similar to the type of synth sound you seem to be using.

Densyl got a reaction from Randy in Featured artist at taxi.com and SULZERWhen I saw this video, actually a longer version of it I think, the first time there wasnt any narration to it. The narration adds alot to the overall feel of the video and the sound track strengthens the whole presentation in a remarkable way.
I didnt know about Taxi.com. I'm with Broadjam.com which does similar things but so far had little success with it. I might drop it.
Great work HP

Densyl got a reaction from Randy in Future plansHi HP,
Is it Freud that said you need a balance between work and pleasure. You were working alot indeed. You had to make choices to get back to a reasonable balanced state. And yes it's a matter of long term vision. Postponing your DVD projects isnt a bad thing . Sales of DVD are constantly decreasing anyways and with what is happening on the web, music is increasingly sold thru different channels than traditional music stores . Websites like Live365 are selling packages of music in the same way you buy a package of TV channels thru cable or satellite TV. Although if one of your song is played you get royalties it mostly help promote the artists that will perform live I think. I think you're going in the right direction in wanting to play live.
I dont come here so often now. Been working alot on my music mainly wrting songs. Am working on 3 at this moment. The last one being a medieval type of song. I needed to use a different kind of picking style using alot of double stop which I use on a jazzy chord progression that I started working on also. I'm havin fun exploring different style of music.
take care
