Hey guys, sorry for the late newsletter. I was extremly busy with many different things. Since I have shifted my entire working system into a new form there are so many things to do and the request from outside to participate is rising which keeps me so busy. But this website is designed to be the center of my creativ activities - it's the hub which distributes everything to different landing spots and the great news is that my experimenal hub & spoke framework I created is allowing me to really go more and more into creativity and still to stay very visible in the digital world. Gary Moore was the master of this puristic sound setting so I take a bit his approach here. Sound settings are also a key element of this. The way you work with your volume, gain, master volume, the presence setting, the EQ setting and also with compression. This tune is still one of my favorite jazz standards because it is a minor blues in 3/4 and you can really explore the dorian mode on the Cm7 and on the Fm7. What I also started to use is the C melodic minor mode on the Cm7 chord which sounds great on this tune. Here I show you my view on the essentials you need to know if you want to master the lydian mode. I show you some chords, useful patterns and some easy tricks to display the lydian mode. The trick is in fact to focus on the options in the lydian mode which in the case of F lydian is the G ( 9th ) and the B ( #11 ) - this creates the mystical feel if you want to outline the magic of the lydian mode.

Great rock guitar solo's always have bigger parts of legato playing included. So the legato playing technique has to get trained as well. In general it is called the Hammer - On and the Pull - Off technique were I show you the very first steps where you can start to train your abilities of legato playing in rock guitar. We start in the very easy open string position of the E minor pentatonic to get to know this technique and then we move it up to the regular position in the XIIth fret.
