Since SRV has his guitar tuned down to Eb ( half step ) its a bit tricky to teach. If you tune your guitar down you can use the original jamtrack and the tabs as they are displayed. And I show you how to play the original version of the intro at the beginning with these openstring parts.
If you have a normal tuned guitar you can either use the alternate jamtrack to practice the openstring version. I the video I mainly use the alternatve version with a normal tuned guitar. Here you can use the normal jamtrack.
For soloing you can use any kind of standard pentatonic licks but pay close attention to my instrustions about playing with punch. This is what it is all about at least about this solo. The interpretation of SRV is great and the punch and relaxed playing is just awesome but the material he plays is basic stuff.
Here a lesson where you can learn to create this punch with soundsettings and playing technique : LESSON
but of course you have to know the pentatonics in all positions or at least in position 1 + 2 to play this stuff and then you jump up to the high position.
