Here you find a selection of blues rock guitar licks which work great with a drop D tuning. The big advantage of the drop D tuning is that you can work with the open D, A and D string and create a really cool blues rock vibe which works great in a typical 60's trio formation such as Jimi Hendirx, Creme or others prefered. In the tabs you find a typical rhythm guitar of a rock n roll in 130 bpm in the key of Bb, then one full solo with the typical playing style inspired by his tune " Johnny B Good '' and then 3 repeating licks which you can use in any rock n roll guitar solo. Here you find 2 chorus of a simple and easy blues improvisation over the entire fretboard with the " question / anwser / resolution " method. It shows you how you can move up and down the entire fretboard with the root note as an orientation point and it also shows you how to develop a easy blues guitar solo with variations and additional licks and bring to back to the beginning of the improvisation.

This can be different from live recordings which is quite normal for any blues artist. To get the original SRV sound you need to tune your guitar down to Eb.

This is an advanced slow blues guitar arrangement in the key of G. Even the track is very slow is an avanced blues guitar task due to the nature of the slow speed, which requires a good timing and the mixture of lead guitar and blues guitar chords. But for sure it's also a great challenge for any intermediate blues guitar player. The backing track is only drum and bass to give you the full creative space on guitar.

Here you find a great blues guitar exercise to learn to work with the form of any blues. This one is a bit an unusual form which shall engage you to really learn to count the bars during playing.
In the first part the regular form is played with a riff which you need to learn by heart and you need to learn whatever you play that this form always is also in your mind during playing. The 2nd part is a Play - Rest exercise. You improvise something with the E minor pentatonic for one bar and then you play the riff which comes at that spot of the form of this blues. It's easier when you first just learn the examples I wrote for you. The 3rd part is the opposite exercise with Rest - Play.
There is an  audio track of the tabs for you to help you to keep track on the entire exercise and the backing track is added too. It's only drum and bass so you really need to know in your mind where exactly in the form you are. Counting the bars helps at the beginning. The more you dive into the topic the more you should be able to feel where exactly you are in that blues form.

Here you find a cool selection of professional blues guitar double stop licks which you can use on the alternate changing chords G7 / C7. The backing track is basicly a loop between those 2 chords so you have a lot of space to practice those licks. You can use any of those licks on any other x7 chord. You just need to adapt it. But it works best on the I / IV progression in any blues progression.

Sophisticated Slow Blues Guitar - Tabs, Audio & Backing Track
Here you find a really tasty and sophisticated 8 bar blues in A with some unusual chord progressions which create a mixture between jazz and blues but can be played bluesy. While the chords are in fact influenced by jazz the solo is really simple to play from the technical side but also follows the chords. Drop D Grooving Shuffle Blues Guitar - Tabs & Backing Track
This is a version of a shuffle blues guitar song played with a drop D tuning. It's a normal 12 bar blues form but the ending has an alternative chord progression which is more fun on this song. The backing track is only drum and bass following the chords.
