Rock Guitar Basic Training

This is a course which takes any rock guitar player from 0 to a solid intermediate rock guitar level. This includes rock rhythm guitar techniques and rock lead guitar techniques. Here you can learn everything from scratch and if you finish this course you will be able to play intermediate rock guitar with your personal style and a well trained foundation in the rock guitar genre.

Here you learn the essential and basic but also not basic chords which are used in rock guitar guitar. The chords are easy to grab but pay close attention to my instruction to learn if properly from the beginning on.

Here you learn the first steps of rock lead guitar which includes : Understanding guitar distortion, counting while playing, playing a simple melody, playing a simple melody with tone control and improvising a simple melody with tone control.

Here I show the crucial exercises to learn the rock guitar damping technique from scratch.

Learning the basic alternate picking technique is extremely important for a solid rock lead guitar. Here I will guide you through the main exercises which give you an impression of what this technique is all about and which the points are which you need to work on.

Here you learn your first rock lead guitar licks. The key of all rock guitar solo's are the bendings in the root pentatonic position and the speed of your picking hand. Both of these tasks are discussed here that you can start your basic rock guitar training and if you follow my instructions you might be able to fullfill the task in the timeframe of 3 weeks.

Here you can train the foundation of basic rock guitar powerchord techniques with the chords E5, D5 and A5.

Here I give you exercises to make combinations with rock guitar chords and single note lines. The key or the secret sauce is the precision. I show you 3 very similar but very useful examples how you can play chords and single note lines in order to create very tight rock guitar sound.

Great rock guitar solo's always have bigger parts of legato playing included. So the legato playing technique has to get trained as well. In general it is called the Hammer - On and the Pull - Off technique were I show you the very first steps where you can start to train your abilities of legato playing in rock guitar. We start in the very easy open string position of the E minor pentatonic to get to know this technique and then we move it up to the regular position in the XIIth fret.
