Here I will explain to you all you need to know about the lydian mode. This includes how the lydian mode is related to the normal major mode and how you can change the major mode to lydian mode. I also explain to you how you can work with the upper structure chords which are defined to the lydian progression which defines the lydian mode. Then I show you how you can use this knowledge in your soloing and at the end I'll play a little bit for you to get some inspiration for the lydian mode.
