Hey guys in this post I will show you which guitar works or guitar videos inspired me a lot - you can also share yours if you want.

I will start with probably the best guitar solo ever - and the winner ist Steve Vai with Tender Surender. It's just amazing how extrem he can control the tone and the tension in this video here. A must for any guitar fan :

 

Paul Gilbert you guys all know - but who knows Martin Miller ? This guy can play

 

but when you compare the 2 solo's you can really hear which of the 2 has found his peace and personality in music. Paul Gilbert just shines with his playing and his outfit - all comes in one piece and thats what it is all about in music or your playing. Not the crazy licks - the personality

I really love Derek Trucks on slide guitar.

 

I didn't know these guys but I love them. Something between AC / DC and Judas Priest and Lemmy Kilmister driving the truck in this video.

 

I always admired Al Di Meola for his great technique but there was a lack of emotions in his playing... for my taste.... but in this rendition not anymore. Just wonderful.

 

This guy is truely a master of the shred

 

The coolest blues jam ever. Didn't know the guys but they can really play. I think they are famous in the Nashville scene but here in Switzerland we don't know these guys.

Just discovered a new band - I really like them even the new song sounds quit a lot like " runaway " by Bon Jovi in the beginning.

From all bands from the Fusion area from the 90's I love Tribal Tech most. Scott Henderson the guitar player has his roots in blues and when you listen to him he has a lot of SRV influence. From my point of view one should not pull away the electric guitar from it's roots which is in fact " blues " . Here are nice liveshow that you can have a listen to the guys.

you night have heard it that Jeff Beck has passed away. A huge inspiration for many guitar players. Here we can all look once more to his really unique sound and playing technique. Love it !

 

Just happened to drop over this guy here - and he is phenomenal - phantistic. Never heard of him before but he is in fact world class.

There is a new song and video out by Extreme and Nuno Bettencourt is back with an astonishing guitar solo and guitar work.

 

Tuck Andress is probably not so known but his guitar work he did specially in the " Tuck & Patty " formation was just absolut worldclass and inspired me a lot.

 

Here's a really great guitar player which I just discovered. He has been hanging around at jazz jamsessions here in Zürich. So I heard of him. Wonderful his playing.

 

These guys seem to be not really known - but I love this performance.... yesturday in Switzerland. Never heard of them before but I find there approach very inspriational.

 

Popped over this live video of Jeff Healy back from 1989. I can tell when I heard Jeff Healy the first time I was totally amazed by his extrem vibrato's and he's wide bendings which are only possible with his unique playing technique. Too bad that Jeff has already left us again - but his music will live forever.

Love this guy - thats a vibe of Blues Rock which I love.

 

Vic Vergat - a Swiss Rock N Roller has passed away. He was one of the 2nd row in the late 80's in Switzerland behind Krokus. I remember I also bought this record here. Maybe some of you guys knew him. I did.

 

I heard this guy here like 20 years ago but forgot his name - but the music stayed in my memory. A FB friend is just visiting a concert of him in Switzerland and posted it there. Now I remembered the name : Keziah Jones

Here's a really great live performance by Steve Morse. There you can really watch his picking technique which switches easy between different picking techniques and speeds. I am working at similar stuff at the moment after going for legato playing for many years.
