And this tutorial you can learn the basics of a creative slow rock improvisation concept by understanding structure of a guitar riff, the rhythm and how to alter the guitar chords by still keeping the main rhythm pattern going on. In this case it is a very easy rock figure. It's E5 to C5 to D5 and the second part is A5 to C5 and D5. First I show you the simple version of the figure and then get into more sophisticated settings and patterns and riffs.

Thanks so much for another great piece, Hanspeter. It's perfect for me as a forever beginner! I can't get anywhere near your tone but it still sounds good with a ton of gain on my Squier Strat. I'm trying to work out that little figure at 7:39.

This is a great way to learn, with such memorable tunes - really hypnotic stuff.

Hey Nick,

thanks for your feedback. Yeah this one is not so hard to play. The figure played at  7:39 is this one :

E |----------------------------||
B |--------8--10L10------------||
G |-----9-----11L11------------||
D |--10-------12L12------------||
A |----------------------------||
E |----------------------------||

Grusse, Hanspeter! Es tut mir leid, I made a mistake and it's the figure at 7:34 [so just before the other one], but I'm pretty sure it's this:

D I----------5 --7--II

A I--5--7-------9--II

E I-------------------II
