Here you can learn the Jazz Standard " So What " influenced by Miles Davis version on his CD " Kind of Blue ". You can learn the Theme and some tips and tricks about modal improvisation. Topics there are the dorian mode, upper structure triads, timing, playing laid back, playing over the bar line and similar topics. Below you find the chapters which are talked about.

Really enjoyed this HP, I think I could get very interested in jazz. I think the fretboard speed would suit me well .... I'm certainly never going to be a shredder with my arthritic fingers. ??

Jazz can be very cool - it does not need to get complicated - and you really dont need to play fast there. ?

Fantastic lesson! I like e.g. „upper structure” concept :)

I have a question - there is the last part of the solo in Introduction part of the video - starting from 2:41. Can anyone advice me please if it is just D dorian scale played, or some alteration is present there? There is no tab for solo part in download section to check this.

Hey Rafi,

welcome here in the Guitar Academy. There I played dorian scale with cromatic tones in between. Tutorials about this + Tabs will come in the near future. This lesson was only for the theme and some ideas for soloing.
