Great tutorial of one of the best swing songs ever............I have a version of this by Ella and her band, live from Berlin, in February 1960..............the great Jim Hall was the guitarist in the band on this version.............this is the version where Ella forgets the words and scats instead. Jim and Ella worked together for about a year after which he said "I used to tune up to her voice". Great stuff HP!

Then you might find this interesting HP. This YouTube video is of the composer of the music, Luiz Bonfa, playing and singing the song in the original language, in 1966. The video lasts about 10 minutes and might be of interest. In addition to playing and singing A Day In The Life Of A Fool, which is at the end of the video, the second song he plays imitates percussion instruments. Really interesting and great playing. Hope you like it.
