Here you can learn how to play the song Cold Shot by Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's basically a normal blues in the key of Ab. Since SRV tuned down his guitar to Eb he plays the tune in the 5th fret in the original. I show a version in the 4th fret on a normal tuned guitar. The solo is pretty hard since you need to keep the rhythm going since the band contains only drum, bass and guitar.

Here you can learn all you need to learn in the first 3 – 6 months of your journey when you are starting the guitar. From my experience as a guitar tutor and guitar instructor since 1999 it always turned to be those topics I am talking about here. The threshold to go further is the barréchord. That one is the tricky part which can make the first steps harder and longer time to get stuck in the beginners phase. The good news is with regular practicing you can really make it in 3 months. I experienced this myself when I started the guitar at the age of 20. So i pretty much remember those steps. Be patient and just practice regular and suddely those things I am showing here work out for you and you are ready to get to the next level of guitarplaying.

tharvey reacted to admin in On Broadway ( George Benson )Here you can learn the chords, the melody and some improvisation tricks of the song on Broadway by George Benson. George Benson used to be a great jazz guitarists and performer and one of his signature songs was On Broadway. It is basically a blues which works with a simple riff and that one I am showing you in the tutorial. The Melody comes around with the singing of George Benson but I show an instrumental version of it here. Therefore I took the simple part of it and did not go too much with the little variations he did in his singing. The improvisation work like a blues and I am showing you a few simple tricks how can work in a jazzy way over these chords. In the original song it transposed each chorus one half step up till the guitar solo comes.
