Personally, I believe I am "Beginner/Intermediate" .... I studied quite a bit of theory when I started learning the guitar, and I now sometimes feel that my theoretical knowledge exceeds my practical playing ability. I'm hoping it will catch up with Hanspeters' help .....

Hi guys, I just thought I'd tell you about this very useful FREE tool that I've been using for quite a few months. It's called "Chordfinder.com" ... and can be used for not only finding out about various chords shapes/positions, but also different tunings, triads, arpeggios, and scales ... it's even got a built in "Quiz" to test your knowledge and progress. You can locate it here, I hope you find it useful too .... https://www.chordfinder.com/guitar-scales.php

I would encourage all our new friends to visit the introduction post at "Share Your Story" https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/index.php?/topic/2451-share-your-story/  and maybe tell us a little about yourselves, your instruments, and your musical tastes.

    Cheers HP .. you're a gentleman!!
So I had the correct shape and position, I just should have used the low E strings' 13th fret F (pinky), or A strings' 8th fret (pinky) as the root notes?

    Beautiful Professor ... just beautiful.
Is there a TAB available, or did you just play ad-lib? If my fretboard lessons are progressing, and some knowledge is being absorbed, would I be correct in guessing that that was played in D minor? I had trouble establishing if you were playing Pentatonic Shape 1 on either fret 5 or fret 10 ..... I gambled on 10? Please put me out of my misery ... whether good or bad news.

Thanks Sara ... I agree, the site is brilliant, and I'm seeing benefits already.
Sadly, my wife is not as impressed as you are with my 13 guitars (I hope it's not an unlucky 13!! LOL!!). Yes, the Les Paul looks and plays great, although the flagship of my collection is the one I use as my profile picture ... a 2015 Gibson Les Paul Less+ (Image attached), which apart from dismantling for shielding purposes remains quite standard.
Thanks for your reply ... take care for now!!
    P.S.
I hope you don't mind, but I've added you to my "Followed" list.

Thanks HP, it's completely my pleasure I assure you.
Lyn and I passed close to you last week, we spent several days in the Stresa area of Lake Maggiore, crossing the border at Basel. We've been that way several times, but crossed over the top of the Gotthard Pass for the first time this year, what spectacular views. The part of the coach trip itinerary that attracted me was a day at Lugano .... I was there exactly 50 years ago as part of a school trip, the same month they landed on the moon. Happy days!!
    Take care for now!!!

Hi everyone, I'm a 63 year old male, living in Wales/UK with Lyn, my beautiful wife of 38 years. I took early retirement in 2017, after 45 years in the motor industry, the last 20 as a home based Automotive Engineer involved with mechanical insurance warranty claims.
It was lovely Lyn who suggested I add learning the guitar to my "bucket list" back in 2015 ... when, whilst carrying out some routine Spring cleaning, we came across my elderly Eros Jumbo acoustic guitar, bought for me by my mother when I was 14, some 45 years earlier in 1970. I strummed a few chords/notes, which led to her making the "bucket list" suggestion.
Four years on and the guitar family has increased to 13 (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) ... most of the additions purchased via Thomann of Germany. I believe it is possibly the engineer in me, because my early guitar years involved the purchase and major modification of the majority of these instruments ... the most involved being the conversion of a Epiphone Les Paul Studio (Image attached) over to the Jimmy Page pick up configuration, including the installation of Seymour Duncan pick-ups, and a Wilkinson roller bridge.
I discovered HPCrazy about mid 2017, and my initial attempt at learning/replicating a lesson was the "Silent Night" lesson later that year (the video of which I submitted on another guitar site of which I am a member)
I joined the HPCrazy student ranks in January of this year, and purchased the full annual subscription several days ago. I thoroughly enjoy Hanspeters' lessons, and the humour that goes with them .... we are so lucky to have such a talented tutor, and look forward to up and coming lessons/tutorials from "The Professor".

Enjoyed this lesson, I think I could get into jazz ... back in the seventies I was a big fan of John McLaughlin of Mahavishnu Orchestra fame. He was involved with many genres, including Indian classical, Western classical, flamenco and blues, but I remember him most for his "electric jazz fusion" on albums I still own, "Inner Mountain Flame" and "Birds of Fire". Those were very happy days in the seventies .... God I'm feeling old!!!

Really enjoyed this HP, I think I could get very interested in jazz. I think the fretboard speed would suit me well .... I'm certainly never going to be a shredder with my arthritic fingers. ??

Hi Hanspeter .... Although I'm thoroughly enjoying your current/recent video tutorials/lessons (August 2019), after watching this video, I realise my personal ability is considerably below that which is required to execute the material taught in these videos. Now a full member, I intend to go back to the start and concentrate on your earlier theoretical lessons before venturing fully into the riff/song videos. I think this video/lesson was a great start to my plans BTW!!!

Here I'm talking about the HPCrazy Guitar Academy which is now a full and complete Online Guitar Academy from the beginner till an aspiring professional guitar player. I am talking about the different departments of the guitar Academy and explain the functions and the possibilities which you can have here.
First is the HPCrazy YouTube channel which you might already be a subscriber. It is free and there are 2 uploaded videos every week. If you subscribe and hit the notification button - the bell then you get notified when Premiere takes place or a new video is uploaded.
To get to the next step you can follow the link which is at its here and subscribe to a free member account in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. It is worth joining to the free member account since if you join the HPCrazy Students Club there are 5 available which are also available for free members. You can also interact with the other students and get more into touch with them.
To get access to that size with your attitude each tutorial with your find here on YouTube do you need to make the premium membership upgrade. New is that they are also available in Guitar Pro format. Students of the HP crazy guitar Academy get a 20% off for this software.
If you feel like you want to have a more personal guidance or guitar coach you can book a private online guitar lessons in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. This is the premium service and I only take up to 15 private students per week.
If you want to go even if they further you can study guitar in the HP crazy guitar Academy and finisher started with a diploma. The requirements to finish the studies are very hard and compared to the normal Bachelor Master System which can be found at music universities this diploma is a artist diploma compared to like Japanese karate master. So this is a true guitar master degree.
Whatever you choose to take advantage of the HP crazy guitar Academy system is for all students worldwide especially for those with low budget which cannot afford to go to university but still have the waist or did really go deep into guitar playing or music but it's up to you which department do you want to join but you can learn the same things in each department with hard work.
The hashtag where you can find all the students of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy is #hpcrazyguitaracademy

Hello, everybody,   now a year has gone by again. I wish you all happy holidays and a blessed new year. For all private students the message that on January 6th we will continue with the lessons. Those who do not know their date anymore - just keep the rhythm (for those in a 2-week rhythm).   All of you have made progress this year - each one at his own pace and the main thing is that it is fun and you like to take the guitar in your hands. That is what it is all about at the end.   There are some new features or rather a view into 2020 :   New is the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. This is the name under which my guitar school can now be found. It contains the following segments which are now perfectly woven together:   HPCrazy YouTube Channel : https://www.youtube.com/user/hpcrazycom Private lessons in Egg and online lessons : https://hpcrazy.com/private.html HPCrazy study : https://www.hpcrazy.com/diploma.html HPCrazy online Guitar Academy : https://www.hpcrazy.com/club.html HPCrazy Guitar Nights : https://www.hpcrazy.com/concerts.html   What's still new - that I can get all products from www.moon-music.ch for you at a special price. If you want to have something just contact me. I have recently started a cooperation.   HPCrazy has got the Google verification since 2019. Best you follow me there for innovations. Otherwise there is an Instagram account since a few days : https://www.instagram.com/hpcrazycom/   If you still want to write a review on Google you can do so here : https://g.page/gitarrist/review?ma   I would be very happy about that and it helps the Gitarren Akademie to get more local presence. Online we have a traffic of about 110000 visitors, about 1 million impressions and a watchtime of over 600000 minutes per month.   Outlook for 2020   The Guitar Nights will now take place every month and whoever wants to can also play something there as a supporting programme. Admitted are all students / active or former students, but also followers on YouTube or Google.   Possibly there will be a CH tour with the Guitar Nights in cooperation with moon-music.ch - but this is not yet finalized.   Further increase of traffic online and expansion of the community of all students. If you don't have a t-shirt yet, you can get one here - https://hpcrazy.com/tshirts.html   Yes, that was it so far from my side - without the cooperation with you students all this would not have been possible - so a big thanks from my side.

Finally I found my style in jazz, so that I can fully live out my creativity on the guitar and it doesn't sound like usual jazz guitar anymore. First to be heard at the Jazznight in Zug from Oct 3 in Monsieur Baquette together with the guys from HazzdaJazz. I have been following the style of George Benson, Wes Montgomery and Joe Pass a long time but never felt like flying when I played this styIe. This has changed now - really love it. I will open up a vlog here in the HPCrazy Students Club where you can follow me on my path to that style.
