Music-Pictures.com Here are many announcements about music-pictures.com : Swiss Television I have finished the job for Swiss Television now. They wanted to have some specific sounds and moods. I think I could get them there. You can listen to my layouts at http://www.music-pictures.com/sf Scoring a movie The scoring work for that Swiss movie have started with one month delay. This really gets me into massiv problems since my schedules currently are very tight - I hope I will get through everything in time now. The movie will contain 8 different parts. Therefore I had to compose a song for each part. Because my time is pretty limited I have taken some edits from official music-pictures.com songs. The church is pretty big - and my goal is to fill the place up till the last concert. I got some great and brandnew stuff on the guitar with my AXE FX ULTRA. This will be great ! Thats pretty cool. I heard from the agency who got me that placement that I have a good change to get into resynchronization - which means that that series will be translated to 100 languages and will be spread all over the world - AND I will get money for each time that series will be broadcasted. :-) I guess I think about buying me a Ferrari now - An orange one * LOL * Teaching I have that much work that I really have to set priorities. I am currenty thinking about to stop teaching my regular students or at least to stop adding new ones. I only teach 5 students a week and some of them are with me since years and I have a resposibility - but I am stuck in work. You can't imagine how much. :-/ - but I would love to see the faces of my students when I come to the lessons with my BRAND NEW FERRARI * ROFL *

That's why the touch technique was acutally not very difficult for me - from that point of view. From the technical side the touch technique is really tough. But I am slowly getting on a new level there. You can expect a new CD in the near future. As soon as I have more time. It depends - but I just had the situation yesturday where the producer of the movie did not like the beat of one song I composed. I told him that the beat was just what made the song sound like that. Sometimes a slight changement in some sound settings gets you a complete new mood. An I mostly come from the beat - side . I love modern beats - but really this depends. Some years ago I wrote a lot of jazzy songs when I was working a lot as a jazzpianist. Now I am more on the electronic, new age side. Thats whats my music meant to be HP

HP I certainly can recognize your style of playing touch technique in your piano playing style Music does'nt have to be sexy. If it makes you feel good and if it touches someone's soul, that's great. It's a good thing that there are different genres of music. Imagine going to a caffe to meet with a nice woman that you'd want to date and there would be heavy metal music playing loud in ther caffe !!!! You'd have a hard time talking about anything I just finished remaking one of my songs with my new DAW. I did this to practice working with softsynths and so I ended up making somewhat of a disco version of my song I love you which is in the original version a love song that feels more like a broadway type of song. It's at the same tempo (100bpm) but it's surprizing to hear such a difference in style although obviously the melody has'nt changed. There's something I learned from this exercice. It is that I should try different beats when writing a song. The end result can be surprizing. When composing do you actually try different different beats to see how your song would sound and feel ? dernis

Hey guys, I know this is a very sexy message in a online guitarschool - but I just got my piano song " Liebe " signed by a UK library. They will use that song for TV placement on BBC or others. Ok my song is going to be in all major download store in a few weeks. You're probably right about the difficulty for a noname artist like myself to get people to click on the song. If something good happens with my song it will most probably be in not less than 6 months. thanks for your opinion denis

I guess so Well the best thing is to have your music in the download stores if it works and you sell your music. The problem is that many other are doing the same thing too which makes it hard to find your specific song. A publisher would solve this problem a bit - but it is very hard to find a publisher. But if you have a good one thats great. I was lucky to get a contract with a very situated publisher of TV & film music in Hollywood - they had the contacts to get my music to ABC. HP

Napster etc.... My song will be posted on these sites in a few weeks. I read that sales of songs by unit instead of CD is increasing by more than 40% on the WEB. Do you think it's a good idea. The other option is to find a publisher to sell my song. So I took a chance with Songcast. Cant hurt Again great news, great achievement for you !!! denis

Music-pictures I have finished the color pictures on my website after I had to end the cooperation with my relativ Christina Krüsi. The pictures where created with a fractal graphik generator and when you click on the pictures you will see that the pictures are animated. Well of course I have a piano which is connected with Midi to the PC and then I play those software plugins. You don't need a full piano, a small keyboard with a Midiwire is OK too. Well Nuendo is really only for pro's - but I would purchase a software which a least supports VST instruments. HP

HP, For the type of work you're doing you probably need that sort of high end product Nuendo costs about 1700$ US which is alot of money but for you as a professionnal artist it's a good investment. If you dont use a MIDI controller does that mean that you use Virtual instruments plug ins of the software. As I dont know much about this I'm just not sure what to do to build a complete home recording sudio but i'll figure it out with a scientific approach called Trial and error lol

Hi Denis, thanks this is in fact great - even that I never watched that serial before. I don't know that site you are talking about but it looks promissing and seems to be a good opportunity to get your music to the producers. I use Nuendo 4 but I worked with Cubase before. Nuendo is just better for movie synchronisation stuff. And I use waves plugins and a lot off additional plugins. I don't work with midi controllers so I can not give you any advice. Still doing stuff with the keyboard and the mouse. HP

It costs money to register your song for an opportunity Depending on your membership it cost 5 to 10 $. I actually have registered one of my song for a soap opera that is looking for a love song, ballad. My song called I love you, I have bought a new recording software Sonar 8 studio. I will get it next week and I plan to re record all my songs. I bought also reference headphones so now I can hear really how goog my song recordings sound. Wow what a shock lol.They really need to be re recorded. Hans, The picture I'm getting in my mind listening to your song Powergeneration is the fight for survival of animals living in the Artic where glacers are rapidely melting due to climate changes. Animals like the polar bears which are in great danger of extinction. New sound equipement I got a new amazing piece of equipement in my studio which I will use for my recording and my liveplaying. It is the Fractal Audio Axe FX Ultra - view http://www.fractalaudio.com/ Somebody recommend it to me and I bought it without hearing how it sounds.... and IT IS GREAT !!! The Ampmodels are great and the effects are really outstanding and they sound like the effects of the legendary Eventide H3000 or Lexikcon PCM70. And the latency of this thing is only 2ms ( compare with the line 6 POD - 5ms ) and yes this makes a great difference. You feel when you want to play fast. Since I am one of the featured instructors I have to participate this work as well and it is a lot of work. All videos have to be re-shot in HD quality. I am half through this but from now one I have to take it a bit slower since other projects are coming now. Composing work I finaly got the assignment to compose the music to a movie which is currently in production. This will be the 175 anniversery movie of a worldwide very well know Swiss company. The movie be be only with music. This means that I have to compose over 30 minutes of music till the end of the year. Live performances I have a whole bundle of live performances coming up in the next few weeks and months. This will keep me very busy but I am glad that I have my Axe FX now. This tool is really what was need to take my touch technique abilties to the next level and to take it to a more modern version of it. I think when all is over I will start to record a new guitar - only CD with touch technique. Looking forward to it. Work overload I now am in the situation that I have that much work that I can not do this all on my own any more. 4.9.08 Tomorrow is my birthday so I wanted to have all work finished to be able to celebrate it a bit tomorrow since I am going through a lot of hard working times in the last weeks. I wasn't even able to make a few days during my " official " holidays in summer. Well the sellings are not outstanding but OK. And there is a market for instrumental music - currently I am working on some new stuff which will work out very good. I started this with a few liveperformances in spring 08 with the new concept and it was very successful - now I am working on a new CD and I will record a pure guitar CD next. I compose instrumental music for music libraries such as the one of Swiss national TV and I got a contract in spring 08 in Hollywood for my instrumental music. That's pretty cheap. You could give a shot - or you could work out producing your own music at your professional homestudio. In thes days you don't have to pick up that much money. HP

HP I already did a while ago I saw a couple of clip where you were playing live You seem to be into touch technique I also heard a few of your songs that you have posted, I dont remember on what site. Some were just beautiful. Do you have any success in selling your songs on the web ? Do you feel that there's a market for instrumental music Do you actually compose music for singers ? I dont have ambitions of selling mine but I guess it's just to protect my copyrights that I dont allow people to download my songs on soundclick without paying for. You never know when one could become a hit if it would be stolen by some musician or producer. As I was saying to Jim , before Christmas I think I'm going to pay myself a day in a professionnal recording studio to record some of the songs ( 2 or 3 ) that I have composed. It's not too expensive , about 275 $ per day so I may try the experience. My recording capability is very basic It's just good enough to have a good idea of what songs may sound like denis

On guitartricks.com where I am a instructor there are major changements going on. Since my teaching method is a bit unconventional I needed to explain my method the the reasons the way I create my online lessons. Here is what I wrote.

10.08.08 HPCRAZY.COm is getting shut down now. I have startetd to make the major chages which means that the time onn HPCRAZY.COM now finally has come to an end. I have been thinking a very long time about this - wheather this would not be dangerous since I have worked over 10 years to spread the name " HPCRAZY " . But I guess this step can not longer be avoided. It will take some time till all changements have gone through since the whole system is very complex. But this is now the very first but final step to do this. Kind of sad - but this will take me one step futher now. And check out the new design of my homepage. Greetings HP
