If you are a beginner on guitar and you love to play rock and you still can not play the basics chords :
then these tabs are for you. Here you can start with the most easy ways of playing rock guitar power chords and you can already start to play your first rock guitar riffs even if you still are struggling with guitar chords. There are 3 keys + available. The keys of Em and Am work well because you can work with easy open string power chords and any other key works with the power chord inversions which are very easy to grab. The focus here is on your learning process of the basic rhythm figures with full, half, quarter and 8th notes. In rock guitar the rhythm is very important so get to know those basic rhythm figures, also the pauses and start to practice them with the beginners power chords to be ready for the basic power chords with more complex rhythms :

Here you find 3 really cool pro long meter rock guitar licks in the key of Em. They allow you to play over the entire fretboard, look and sound cool and they are a great add to your regular rock lead guitar licks. Make sure that you know all pentatonic positions of the E minor pentatonic. The backing track is at 92 bpm so that those 16th notes you need to play are not such a challenge and it's still fast enough to sound great.

Here you find some ideas to make your alternative rock guitar song sound really special. I took the very very common progression with C / G / F / C G and made some really great sound versions of it. There is the main rhythm guitar which you can play with a slight distorted guitar which creates this deep alternative vibe and then add the other unusual chords to them. The backing track is drums, bass & the main guitar riff.
