The Thrill Is Gone ( BB King ) - Guitar Lesson

Here you can learn the song " The Thrill is Gone " by BB King. I checked several versions of this iconic song and there are many different versions available by BB King. Some are in B minor and some in C minor. So this tutorial refers to the original recording of the late 60s but more how to play minor blues in this style and how to play in the style of BB King. There is an analysis about the material he is playing and his way of making the guitar " cry like a baby ". There are 4 chapters with different topics.

The chords are :

Bm7 / Bm7 / Bm7 / Bm7
Em7 / Em7 / Bm7 / Bm7
Gmaj7 / F#7 / Bm7 / Bm7

The chapters are :

0:00 Introduction
3:14 Chords
8:45 Solo
17:24 Final Notes

I was able to see BB perform at a theater in Detroit the year before he passed.

He sat in his chair in the middle of the stage and told stories about the old days, life on the road, his experiences and lessons learned. I was mesmerized.

People were actually booing him because he talked more than he played guitar. I just shook my head... man, some people just don't get it.

A true legend.

I would rather hear one of BB's beautiful guitar phrases than listen to a million notes a minute that means very little. He was a true legend, indeed!
