Cold Cold Feeling ( Albert Collins ) - Guitar Lesson

Here I talk about Albert Collins song " Cold Cold Feeling " which is my personal favorite Texas minor blues and Albert Collins is my favorite blues artist because of his great blues vibe and great lyrics. I show you how to play the rhythm guitar and how Albert Collins played his kind of guitar playing with his main guitar licks which he uses very often in many variations. In the third part I give you instructions on how to play minor Texas blues in general and I share my personal findings and tricks.

It was a lot of fun playing along with this backing track today.  I enjoyed using my the thumb and index finger alternatively - never tried that combination before and I think it creates interesting dynamics.  Great ideas for licks too.  This song is fun to practice my "rakes" with - still dont really have the hang of those yet.  Thanks!

Hey Sara, glad you loved the backing track. I also never tried  that combination of the fingers but it gives an interesting sound and and interesting other approach to sound with finger picking. I might also want to check out Johnny Guitar Watson. He has a similar very special sound which reminds me a bit of this.

The rakes are really a cool way of expression and a great add to lead guitar. Kind of a Sweeping - Light technique.

Johnny Guitar Watson is quite a character - thanks for the recommendation and yes, I am sure if I practice, I will eventually get better at the raking technique.  🙂

Fun song to play. Classic blues progression and the simplistic lead. Amazing!

He was - but his playing really has a recognizable style. I really love it.

Yes it's a classic thing also the lead guitar - but still it has some magic in it. 🙂
