Here you can learn a really easy blues rock riff played with a drop D tuning. The dropped D tuning has the big advantage of being very easy to play and to have a really powerful punch when it comes to blues rock riffs. Beside the riff which works with the chords D5 / Cadd9 / G5 I show you 3 very easy but very powerful licks which work great on any powerful blues rock situation. Below you find the chapters of this fine blues rock guitar tutorial.

Hi Hanspeter, very cool riff and licks. I personally like those ideas very much, where I can play first the riff into a looper, so that I can then play the licks over the riff. This even sounds good without a backing track.

Hey Andreas, glad to hear that. I am pretty much into Drop D Tuning Riffs - so there will be more to come. And yes it of course works with a looper as well. I do have a looper but somehow I never really use it - needs a bit practice to start and stop it on exact timing. ?
