Thank you for asking our ideas. Actually, I am really very happy with everything I am getting already from my membership and the amazing lessons you have posted so far this year. Here are a few things that might be fun to add if you have time. 1. Alternative ways to solo on lessons that are posted on your YouTube channel - for example, showing some arpeggios or licks you can add to a simpler pentatonic blues lesson. 2. Extra extended jam/solo session on songs (like you do at the end of the regular lesson) for inspiration - maybe adding mp3s of your version of some of the songs we are learning for premium members - that would be really awesome. 3. History or interesting facts about songs you post or gear you use - vlog style

Thanks! It is kind of rare but I have seen examples (Joscho Stephan and Robben Ford) and I find it motivating to play rhythm with great guitar leads like a jam session - it is easier to tell when I make a mistake and it is more fun. However, I am sure I will enjoy whatever you chose to teach, so either way, I am happy. 🙂

Hi, I think it would be wonderful to get more instruction on rhythm guitar playing. I have already benefitted a lot from your past lessons. Thank you for asking our opinion. I hope you do not mind if I mention an idea having to do with rhythm guitar lessons. I really love your backing tracks and I was thinking that it might be interesting if you did some backing tracks that have only your lead guitar playing so that we could play rhythm guitar along with your lead guitar. I totally understand if you have other plans and/or would rather not do this, it just seems like it would be a fun way to practice - thanks!

It was a lot of fun playing along with this backing track today. I enjoyed using my the thumb and index finger alternatively - never tried that combination before and I think it creates interesting dynamics. Great ideas for licks too. This song is fun to practice my "rakes" with - still dont really have the hang of those yet. Thanks!

I like all your lessons, especially anything to do with jazz and Spanish/Flamenco guitar. I hope you have plans to post more videos of your "acid" jazz - that last one you posted a long time ago was so unique and amazing. (Here is a link for those who missed it) Maybe that is too difficult to teach but hope you post more performances in the future. 🙂

Would you recommend that I use your backing track that I downloaded during my premium membership (I hope to be a premium member again soon by the way) or would it be better to record our own backing tracks?

Interesting to read about your gear. It must be cool to be able to build your own guitar/pedals. When I used to play electric guitar in my 20s, I found I would spend too much time fiddling with the settings on my pedals instead of practicing/rehearsing - is that why you do not use them? My solution at that time was to limit myself to just using the overdrive pedal with very rare use of the wah wah pedal for a few songs.

Great news! I saw your new acoustic guitar and was hoping that it would be appearing in an upcoming lesson soon. ?

My gear is very simple - just an acoustic guitar: the Lag Tramontane 88. It is a no-frills model but has a solid spruce top which makes a big difference to the sound I think. I used to play electric guitar too when I was younger and I hope I can get an electric guitar again someday. I still have to convince my husband who does not understand why anyone needs more than one guitar (sigh) so in the meantime I am enjoying my acoustic life.

I loved this lesson. Thank you so much. I think it was helpful when you talked at the end of the lesson about listening to what you are playing. It seems like something so simple, but it is not simple for me. I have been recording my practice sessions and I sometimes am very surprised by how different my solos sound from how I think it sounds when I am in the middle of playing. I do feel like I am improving bit by bit though, so that is encouraging. Also, I am glad you reminded me to sing with my guitar more often - I think that will help too.
