    Here you find the basic knowledge to work with the modes on a II V I progression in jazz guitar. In this case it's Am7 / D7 / Gmaj7 / Gmaj7. Learning the modes means that you learn the grid in which a chord moves inside its mode. These are the chord notes : root, 3rd and 5th.
