Here you can learn everything you need to know to master a minor blues in the style of Gary Moore or other players in the ballpark. I will show you the chords, the form and the modes which are used in this type of minor blues and a simple way how you can follow the chords. Control over time and space and sound is also important - also try to make music by interacting with the other instruments playing. Hi all, now that we are approaching the end of the year, I thought about objectives for the upcoming year. For me that is : Get routine to play tight and in timing. Sounds easy to achieve but unfortunately, each time I have a lesson with HP, I learn that it is not. :-) What are your goals for next year ? Have fun, Volker

Great area of focus! Timing is critical. I have the same focus. I'm working on timing exercises for lead and rhythm. It's funny how a simple scale becomes more difficult when playing it strict to a metronome. My other focus for next year is to become proficient in all modes while focusing on intervals. Yes in bar no. 4 we have a C7b9b13 chord so the normal C minor mode does not fit anymore. In such cases you look for the nearest most related mode which is possible in this case it would be the C phrygian nat. 3 mode or phyrgian also works but would not be totaly correct because the C7 chord has an E and not an Eb in the chord.

Hello, can you explain a little bit more about why you are using C- Phrygian with E+. I understood that you want to have Ab, Eb and Bb all the time in scale with different starting point- But why then a Db ?? because of C7b9b13 ?? Cheers Jürgen
