Creative Minor Blues - Guitar Lesson In this guitar lesson I talk about creativity on the guitar in minor blues. The guitar minor blues is probably the most demanding genre on lead guitar because it is so slow and you have a lot of time to make wrong notes, wrong moves - basically just too many notes. So simplicity is the key to success in this genre. In this tutorial I show you a simple theme and how to develop it from scratch and how to really develop your own creativity and your own expression with very simple tricks and motives. This type of minor blues I am showing you goes in the ballpark of Gary Moore, Rose Tattoo and Rory Gallagher. creative minor blues.pdf creative minor blues.gp creative minor blues.mp3

Here you find the tabs of the theme of Billy Cobhams " Red Baron ". The tune itself is quite easy to play and it based here mostly on the Gm blues scale. The improvisation on the tune then is on a G7 / C7 Vamp. My good old musician friend " Wilbert Gill Junior " who passed away one year ago used to play steelpan in Billy Cobhams band for many years. From him I can tell you that the oringinal version of Red Baron or many other Billy Cobham songs and written out into sheet music so the original tabs would be pages over pages. But for the regular player the theme is enough and to know that the solo's are set on that vamp. Some bands play Gm7 / C7 on the vamp.

Slow Drop D Ghost Blues - Guitar Lesson Here I show you a very cool slow blues on guitar which is played with a drop D tuning and some analog delay & panner effect to create this ghost type sound and vibe. The blues is really simple to play - please try to create more tension in the sound with dynamics by attacking the strings differently in order to create this " from dusk till dawn " vibe. And this tutorial you can learn the basics of a creative slow rock improvisation concept by understanding structure of a guitar riff, the rhythm and how to alter the guitar chords by still keeping the main rhythm pattern going on. In this case it is a very easy rock figure. It's E5 to C5 to D5 and the second part is A5 to C5 and D5. First I show you the simple version of the figure and then get into more sophisticated settings and patterns and riffs. creative slow rock concept.pdf creative slow rock concept.gp creative slow rock concept.mp3
