    Hello everyone. Learning the notes on the fretboard seemed such a huge task to me. So many to remember. My biggest progress came when I put together what I already knew. I knew what each string was played open. I knew each fret was half a step. I knew it was only half a step between B and C, also half a step between E and F. Between all others are full steps. Starting with the open string note I can go in the same order I learned when I was very young. Only difference; when I get to G, start over again on A. I can make little exercises for myself. Figuring out what each note is in a scale I am playing, finding the root note of cords ect. Hope this helps. For me the act of finding them myself, makes them easier to remember.
