I voted, but should tell you that my opinion on this guitar school probably isn't a good one. Since I'm taking private lessons with HP, I don't spend much time with the lessons here.
I can say I am very happy with the private lessons - I've progressed much further than I would have if I was only using the online videos. There's definately something to be said about individual feedback and guidance.

Hi Hans,
I'm really glad I found your online guitar school! I've tried a few others and it was just so, non personal. This works for me. I feel comfortable and see clearly the techniques you teach. It is also great to know I'm learning techniques from a professional that is taking the time to share knowlege and the love of music.
The one thing that really grabs me is foundation. You start with foundation and remind in many lessons and videos the simplicity of a root scale then how to, and what is happening when moving into differnt modes.
In a short time I've made some good friends here that share common interests and goals. Sharing with other students is a great way to grow and thanks for providing this opportunity. This is a great space! Speaking of a short time, in the little over a month I've been attending here, I've built more confidence and learned to realx to the extent that it is noticible to the folks I hang out with at the music store here in town. In fact I've learned more here in the last month than with a guitar teacher I had for six months. Here I make my own focus and set my goals.
What else can I say but, "Awesome!!!"
Thank You HP!

..... Now the absolute beginner should indeed have hands on teaching before tackling this environment for sure. Yes I agree with you on the Beginners guide.

I totally disagree here and I speak from experience. When I found Hans, I had only been playing a few months, maybe 10, never any lessons at all. My complete bag of tricks at that time was probably about 15 open position chords and power chords. I didn't know ANY theory, couldn't do, nor did I understand barre chords. Didn't know what a scale was, I mean I was a "decent playing newbie for sure. That's it. When I first saw Hans in this VIDEO HERE Thats when I went and started learning how to play guitar, mostly by ear at first, then started to learn what I was actually playing. I learned at least 80% of what I know from here. I think beginners won't have any problem starting out here and advancing very quickly provided they put in the time of course. It wasn't until I was playing for 2years that I signed up for 10 weeks of lessons and then I stopped. He had given me enough info and stuff to learn and practice for the next 6 months

Hans,
This school is awesome! I am very impressed with how you have organized everything, and also would like to add that I think that you do a "stellar" job with the teaching videos and everything else! Right now, I would like to express my gratitude of being able to participate in this online school as we (in the states and abroad) are taking some hits with the economy etc,... and lately taking care of our families has been a challenge in the face of uncertainty-it has been a luxury to say the least to be able to take advantage of this incredible learning opportunity!
Thanks again, I have really enjoyed exploring the HP Guitar School, and plan on participating for a long time.
Musically,
GeoJazz
